When the concept of doing a website was presented to me, initially I scoffed thinking there wouldn’t be enough critical material daily to comment on — boy was I wrong. Every day I am amazed at the insanity I witness in our America and here is another example.

Sister Sister star Tamera Mowry tearfully told Oprah Winfrey’s network that her marriage to Fox News correspondent Adam Housely had earned her scores of racially-tinged abuse on Twitter and elsewhere. “See, this is where I get emotional, because it’s hurtful,” Mowry said on Oprah: Where Are They Now. “Because when my husband and I are so openly—we’re fine with showing love. Love. But people choose to look past love and spew hate. That’s what hurts me, because I’ve never experienced so much hate ever in my life, ever.”

Actor/comedian Donnell Rawlings is speaking out against those criticizing the content of director Quentin Tarantino's hot-button hit "Django Unchained." Rawlings came to the director's defense after several high profile black artists, including Katt Williams and Spike Lee, savaged Tarantino for fusing slavery with an homage to spaghetti westerns. The comic actor's defense, however, was a tad indelicate. "We shootin' white people in this movie. The black dude leaves with his girl into the sunset. There can be no happier movie than that."

The Congressional Black Caucus wants the Justice Department to investigate the shooting death of a 17-year-old, unarmed black Florida high school student as a potential hate crime. “This case compromises the integrity of our legal system and sets a horrific precedent of vigilante justice,” Congressional Black Caucus Chair Emanuel Cleaver (D-Mo.) said in a statement. “Members of the Congressional Black Caucus stand together in the name of justice for Trayvon. As a nation we cannot, should not, and will not ignore, Trayvon’s brutal murder and the inconceivable fact that his killer remains free. Contrary to the flippant way this case...

White House working to court Blacks for ObamaPresident’s poll numbers could use a boost among African Americans Written by Zack Burgess Tribune Correspondent Sunday, 08 May 2011 15:05 When President Barack Obama was elected into office, the pride felt in the African-American community was indescribable. The nation’s first Black president could do no wrong. A savior had arrived. And while he won the presidential election in 2008 with the help of a collection of liberal whites and independents — it’s safe to say it was Blacks who felt as if they were going to benefit the most. Amazing how things...

At a Thursday night meeting to discuss concerns about a gang rape investigation has degraded into allegations that the eleven-year-old victim is to blame. Many who attended the meeting in Cleveland, Texas support the group of men charged with the crime. More than 130 people attended the meeting led by Quanell X, a Houston activist in the black community, who insisted that his goal was not to "jump on an 11-year-old girl" but to question the police investigation. His concern centered around the fact that only young black men were arrested, and although he believes some charged are guilty, others...
