Because of Ahmadinejad's goal of ushering in the coming of the Mahdi, I thought for context that these film clips, pointed out on another forum, would be interesting to Freepers for Context. It helps to explain his and other people's mindset. It is from an Islamic point of view, and interestingly refers to 9/11 as a Terrorist attack. http://youtube.com/results?search_type=search_videos&search_sort=relevance&search_query=the+end+times+and+the+mahdi&search=Search

Iran formally responded Tuesday to a package of Western incentives aimed at persuading Tehran to suspend uranium enrichment, with officials saying it has offered a "new formula" to resolve the dispute. The country's top nuclear negotiator said Tehran was ready to enter "serious negotiations." Iran's top nuclear negotiator, Ali Larijani, hand-delivered Iran's response to the Western package of nuclear incentives to ambassadors from Britain, China, Russia, France, Germany and Switzerland, state-run television said, without disclosing details. Officials close to the meeting said Iran's response offered the "new formula" to resolve the dispute over Tehran's nuclear activities. The officials spoke on...

Iran is set to respond later Tuesday to a demand from the West that it stop enriching uranium, but a more pressing matter appeared to be taking place in the Persian Gulf, where the Islamic republic's military fired on and took over a Romanian oil rig. According a Bloomberg report, an Iranian naval vessel opened fire on the rig with machine guns, boarded it and seized control of the radio room. The rig is owned by Romania's Grup Servicii Petroliere. A representative of the rig's owner said in the report that it has 26 workers on board.

Aug. 22 - Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei defies UN Security Council demands. Iran has so far shown no sign it will accept the offer made in June by the United States, Russia, China, France, Britain and Germany. The package included offering Iran state-of-the-art nuclear technology, easing of some trade restrictions and other incentives. Tehran has said it would give its formal response by Tuesday, August 22. Katie Juhl reports.

BUCHAREST, Romania -- A Romanian oil rig off the coast of Iran came under fire Tuesday from an Iranian military warship and was later occupied by Iranian troops, a company spokesman said. The Iranians first fired into the air and then fired at the Orizont rig, said GSP spokesman Radu Petrescu. Half an hour later, troops from the ship boarded and occupied the rig and the company lost contact with the 26 crew members shortly afterward. Petrescu said he had no information about any injuries or deaths. The Orizont rig has been moored near Kish island in the Persian Gulf...

Well, Aug 22nd is here. Isn't today supposed to be the day the 12th Imam comes from a pit inside the world , greets Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, and then destroys Israel and other infidel nations? Beck has been talking about this for weeks. According to this excerpt from World Net Daily: ___________________________________________________________________________________________ Bernard Lewis of Princeton has had opinion pieces circulating for two weeks now about how that night, the anniversary of one of Islam's holiest events, could be a time Iran would pick to spark a battle Muslims believe forever will resolve the battle between "good" and "evil." He said...

Excerpt - TEHRAN (AP)--Iran said Tuesday it intends to meet a self-imposed deadline to formally respond later in the day to a Western incentives package aimed at persuading it to suspend its uranium enrichment program, state television reported. "Iran will respond in writing today to the package of incentives proposed by the West," the station said but gave no further details. On Monday, Iran turned away International Atomic Energy Agency inspectors from an underground site meant to shelter its uranium enrichment program from attack. Its top leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, declared Monday that Tehran will continue to pursue its nuclear...

'Twas the Night Before Miraj 'Twas the night before Miraj, when all through dhimmiland Not a camel was stirring, nor flea in the sand. The infidels were hung by the over-pass with care, In hopes that Twelver soon would be there. The children were bomb-wired all snug in their beds, While visions of martyrdom danced in their heads. And mamma in her burqa, and I in my cap, Had just settled our brains for a long summer's nap. When out on the dirt there arose such a clatter, I sprang from the tent to see what was the matter. Away...

Iran has promised to respond to UN demands to halt its nuclear activities on Aug. 22 -- a date that some believe could signal a new round of warfare in the Middle East. More than a month ago, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said his government would deliver its response to the UN proposal on the 22nd of August. However, the UN Security Council had given Tehran until Aug. 31st to reply, or face sanctions. The fact Iran is replying early, and specifically on Aug. 22, has some wondering if the response could have cataclysmic consequences. Aug. 22 coincides with the...

What Will the Morrow Bring? Iran's leaders are far too serious and dedicated to promise something big and then not follow up with it. Whatever it is, it has to be something substantial enough to merit the very value they have placed on it. Here are the "top" candidates of what Iran's "joyous news" will be: a. Doomsday- Multiple Warhead Missile/Cruise Missile Attack on the US, Israel, the UK and Salman Rushdie Western Intelligence is weak but it is hard to see how they could field nuclear weapons without first testing them. Unless of course they just bought them from...

Iran announces its Arak heavy water plant will soon be operational The announcement came from Dep Dir of Iran’s nuclear program Mohammad Saidi hours before Tehran’s promised response to the world powers’ incentive package for halting uranium enrichment. According to an unnamed source in Vienna talking to AKI, new centrifuges have been installed at the Natanz uranium enrichment facility over the past week. The Arak plant could produce plutonium for nuclear bombs by an alternative method to the uranium enrichment process

Iran has turned away U.N. inspectors wanting to examine its underground nuclear site in an apparent violation of the Nonproliferation Treaty, diplomats and U.N. officials said Monday. The officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity because of the confidentiality of the information, told The Associated Press that Iran's unprecedented refusal to allow access to the facility at Natanz could seriously hamper international efforts to ensure that Tehran is not trying to make nuclear weapons.

There are growing indications that Iran may be planning an attack on American soil. These indicators are not secret — (snip) potential Iranian attacks on America, which will subsequently lead to its destruction. A report on May 28 in Al-Sharq Al-Awsat reported that an Iranian intelligence unit has established a center called "The Brigades of the Shahids of the Global Islamic Awakening."The paper claimed that it had obtained a tape with a speech by Hassan Abbassi, a Revolutionary Guards intelligence theoretician who teaches at Al-Hussein University. In the tape, Mr. Abbassi spoke of Tehran's secret plans, which include "a strategy...

Iran's supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, has said his country will press ahead with its nuclear programme. He was speaking a day before Tehran is scheduled to give its formal answer to an international proposal of incentives for Iran to halt uranium enrichment. Iran had "made its own decision" on the nuclear issue and would "continue its path" with "patience and power", state television quoted the leader as saying. The UN Security Council has threatened sanctions if enrichment does not stop. Iran is due to give its formal response on Tuesday to a proposal from Russia, China, France, Britain, Germany and...
