  • More Questions About Kerry Vietnam Service

As Democratic hopeful John Kerry whines about the Swift Boat Veterans questioning his Vietnam “war service,” more revelations have surfaced which challenge the legitimacy of his first Purple Heart. The Senator claims that that medal was received because of enemy fire he took, but his own personal diary contradicts that assertion. While the Senator’s supporters tried unsuccessfully to portray President Bush as being “AWOL” during the Vietnam War, they won’t address the fact that Kerry tried to defer his military service at that time for 12 months. And what would Kerry and his friends say about the fact that his...

Are you honked off at the article by so-called "reporter" Lara Jakes Jordan of the Associated Press? Well, here's how you can voice your opinion. LJordan@ap.org You can also send a message to her boss. NPrott@AP.org (I'm pretty sure about the spelling, but not 100% - it's hard to tell when you're calling from Qatar...) LAGOS: The author of an article on the Miss World pageant considered blasphemous by many Nigerian Muslims has fled the country after a violent backlash, a senior source at her former newspaper said. The source, who asked not to be identified, said: "I can confirm to you that she has left Nigeria." The article published by the daily This Day on November 16 angered Nigerian Muslims. Riots broke out in the northern city of Kaduna which left around 220 people dead and forced pageant organisers to abandon plans to stage this year's contest in Nigeria. Today the mainly Muslim state...

  • Where can I find a positive article on Bush's business history?

    07/22/2002 7:34:38 AM PDT · by Quasius · 12 replies · 266+ views
I was wondering if any of you good people could point me to an article that traces Bush's business history. I know there is plenty of spin, exagerations, and lies out there on this topic, so is there a factual article that does not make Bush look like a dishonest dunce? If there is one from a "reputable" source such as a mainstream newspaper or such, that would be even better. Thanks for any help. P.S. If this post does not come out right, I am sorry. This is my first time on this forum.
  • To link or not to link?

    06/10/2002 12:27:42 PM PDT · by TrappedInLiberalHell · 4 replies · 251+ views
June 10 — Nicolai Lassen considers linking such a fundamental element of the World Wide Web that he sees nothing wrong with creating a service around linking to news articles at more than 3,000 other sites. Danish publishers, however, equate such linking with stealing — and have gone to court to stop it. The case, scheduled for hearings in Copenhagen later this month, is among the latest to challenge the Web’s basic premise of encouraging the free flow of information through linking. REQUIRING PERMISSION before linking could jeopardize online journals, search engines and other sites that link — which is...
