Former Vice President Joe Biden attacked President Donald Trump on Wednesday for downplaying the threat of the coronavirus earlier this year to discourage panic — but he himself told Americans not to panic about the disease. Sean Hannity aired archival footage on Fox News of Biden speaking to supporters in Sumter, South Carolina, on Feb. 28 — one day before Biden won the state’s primary, securing his first victory in three presidential campaigns and creating a path to the nomination

Does it feel like you’re walking on eggshells lately when talking about politics? You’re not alone. A new national survey of 2,000 Americans I conducted at the Cato Institute finds that 62 percent of Americans say the political climate these days prevents them from saying what they believe because others might find it offensive. This share is up from 58 percent in 2017. Notably, self-censorship is not a partisan issue. Majorities of Democrats (52 percent), Independents (59 percent), and Republicans (77 percent) all agree they have political views they are afraid to share.

A woman who was upset that her Burger King order took too long got a man to come to the restaurant and shoot one of the employees, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office. -snip A witness said the restaurant was busy that night and the drive-thru was backed up, which caused customers to have to wait longer than usual. One woman who was in line was mad about the delay so she got out of her vehicle and began yelling that she was going to have “her man” come to the restaurant, so an employee refunded her $40 and...

Things we used to count on as Americans- Because God only knows what will happen if the Democrats win the Presidency 1. Buying decently located real estate was a good investment - under socialism will it be subject to being confiscated by the state? Or will we have forced urbanization? 2. Our kids could choose to further their prospects for success in life through higher education- aside from costs being astronomical we now are subject to the government deciding (for political reasons?) whether colleges can open or not. Also with our litigious society the schools are scared to open and...

The Cato Institute just released a new report showing that 62 percent of Americans are inclined to self-censor what they say politically “because others might find them offensive.” Even moderate leftists report they feel increased fear of offending the offendable, while only the most “staunch liberals,” as Cato described them, feel free to speak their minds. The “very conservative” have been pushed deepest in the closet: they are most likely to refrain from saying what they think politically, at nearly twice the rate of the “very liberal.” Buried deeper in the report, however, is a stunning data point that might...

A compilation of TV news clips of people saying “mask debate” (which sounds very much like another unrelated word when spoken — try saying it out loud right now to see what I mean), stitched together by the folks at Last Week Tonight with John Oliver. It feels good to laugh at infuriating things sometimes. BTW, the actual debate over masks will continue to wane - science and then culture will win most people over and it’ll just become a normal thing that most people do in public all the time, like wearing shoes or carrying a bag.

THE PERCENTAGE OF Americans who identify as politically conservative has been steadily declining throughout 2020. A Gallup poll released Monday found that 34% of people in the U.S. identified as conservative in May and June. That's compared to 40% who identified as conservative in January, which was a tie for the highest percentage Gallup has recorded in the past six years.

The Not F***** Around Coalition is making its way to Louisville on Saturday. Its leader said it’s a militia exercising its constitutional right to assemble and bear arms. It expects 5,000 of its members to participate. Grand Master Jay, also known as John Fitzgerald Johnson, is the leader of the group and said the NFAC’s only concern is expeditious movement for justice in the Breonna Taylor case. Taylor was shot dead by LMPD officers serving a warrant at her home back in March. Jay said its members are coming to Louisville in peace, and has no intentions of creating or...

The exact opposite of social distancing took place in Daytona Beach on Saturday. The Volusia County Sheriff's Office released new chopper video overnight of a massive crowd in the city, holding up traffic on a major roadway.

Can you feel it? Can you feel the pace quickening? More cars on the road, more people in the stores, more ads crowding your inbox? Activity is picking up, even in my state of New York, where we’re still under lockdown. It’s palpable; Americans everywhere are going back to work. Democrats don’t like that one little bit. The worse things are, the better their chances in November. After all, Joe Biden is blaming President Trump for having helped throw the country into a deep recession; he sure doesn’t want the hard times to end. A recent tweet from the former...

Police at the scene also said a female employee was assaulted by the suspect and sustained injuries from hitting her head on dinning room furniture.

A Family Dollar store security guard was fatally shot in Flint, Michigan, on Friday after telling a customer her child had to wear a face mask to enter the store, prosecutors said. An argument began when the security guard, Calvin Munerlyn, 43, told Sharmel Lashe Teague, 45, that customers needed to wear face masks in the store, Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton said at a Monday news conference. She yelled at him, spit on him and drove off, Leyton said. About 20 minutes later, her car returned to the store and her husband and son, Larry Edward Teague, 44, and...

With millions of Americans now out of work and countless small businesses shut down, a large number of U.S. adults are already scrambling to pay their bills. While emergency savings can be a lifeline in situations like the one we're facing, 50% of Americans expect that their savings will run out by the end of April, according to a new survey by real estate service Clever. And given that the crisis is showing no signs of letting up in the near future, that's extremely troubling.Americans are feeling the crunch Unemployment...

Social distancing may be helpful in slowing the spread of a virus, but it doesn’t do a thing in terms of gang violence because six feet is still considered a very short range when aiming a handgun. That may be the lesson coming out of Charm City as the pandemic grinds on. Private businesses and schools may be shut down, but the gang bangers still out there murdering each other with abandon. The body count in Baltimore from gang warfare is still leaving the coronavirus in the dust. (Baltimore Sun) Since March 23, the city has seen 11 killings in...

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said it’s unknown how long flights from other countries will continue operating, so Americans abroad who wish to return should do so immediately. Pompeo warned that the window to bring Americans home from abroad could be closing. Pompeo said more than 26,000 U.S. citizens from more than 50 countries have been repatriated back to the U.S. The top diplomat said the repatriation task force remains committed to bringing all Americans home. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is urging Americans who are still abroad and wish to return to the United States to do so “immediately,”...

ICE Air Operations, the air transportation arm of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), has so far rescued 466 U.S. citizens stranded in the Northern Triangle region of Central America amid the coronavirus pandemic. Following orders of final removal, ICE deported Salvadoran and Honduran nationals back to their home countries on Friday. On the return leg of these flights, the agency took aboard U.S. citizens who were stranded due to COVID-19 lockdowns, according to an ICE press release. ICE on Friday flew home 130 U.S. citizens from Honduras via two different flights, and another 127 U.S. citizens from El Salvador —...

Since the advent of coronavirus, America has had little time or energy for, or interest in anything else. We try to keep up with the latest mortality rates, the number of infected, the spread, and all the other moving parts associated with the virus, and I do mean moving parts because the situation changes so rapidly, sometimes on an hourly basis. Well now, we at least have a plan of action and as painful as it may be, it seems the only meaningful path we have open to us. I have decided to shelter in place for the next three...

WASHINGTON — Republicans are divided on President Trump’s push to send large checks to all Americans as soon as April 6 to keep the coronavirus from crushing the economy — putting the universal payday in doubt. “I think it makes sense later, not now,” Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) told reporters after a meeting of Senate Republicans on Wednesday afternoon. GOP leaders have three groups of senators crafting a $1 trillion stimulus package that could pass as early as this weekend. But with Republicans holding just 53 seats, even a small number of defections could block the idea of direct checks.
