Hi all since there are several caucus for our LDS and RC brothers and sisters I thought it was about time to make one for Adventists. I know there are a lot of us who use the forum. And I have also noticed there are is a lot of misinformation about our beliefs. So I will try and post things with an eye to both groups while staying in the caucus rules.

One controversial translation issue is the phrase, “mia ton sabbaton.” This has traditionally been translated as “the first of the week.” Under pressure from 7th-day Adventists, however, some translations of the bible have taken to translate this “on one of the Sabbaths.” But the Adventists’ translation is based on a faulty transliteration. In the Greek, “sabbaton” is spelled with either an omicron (“small ‘o’”) or an omega (“big ‘o’”). When spelled with an omega, “sabbaton” is the genitive plural. In other words, it means “Sabbaths’.” The Adventists’ position is that “primus” means “first;” “mia” means closer to the number, one....

Read this and you will see amazing paralells to what is occuring today in America. As Solomon said "There is nothing new under the sun." This all played out before in Heaven. Excerpt from the book "The Great Controversey" by Ellen White, part of the "Origin of Evil" chapter. The law of love being the foundation of the government of God, the happiness of all created beings depended upon their perfect accord with its great principles of righteousness. God desires from all His creatures the service of love--homage that springs from an intelligent appreciation of His character. He takes no...

Texas Conference of Seventh-day Adventists and Richardson Church versus Eugene Shubert Do Seventh-day Adventist pastors ever abuse their authority and silence individual church members they don’t like? Do they ever disfellowship believers without even granting them a semblance of a church trial? (Matthew 18:15-17; 1 Corinthians 6:1-4). Would an Adventist Christian ever join a conspiracy to silence a true believer with threats of arrest for criminal trespassing just for showing up at church? I believe that most of the pastors of the Seventh-day Adventist church favor using threats and intimidation and a direct appeal to the state for immediate prosecution,...

A nighttime fire at the North Valley Spanish Seventh-day Adventist Church in Phoenix, Arizona is being blamed on arson, with city and federal officials investigating. The Feb. 7 blaze gutted the church, and caused a reported $200,000 in damage. While the congregation, which has 150 members, is insured, the emotional toll is heavy. Discussing the thought that the fire was set, church Pastor Claudio M. Martin told the "Arizona Republic" newspaper, "I don't want to even suspect that someone would do such a thing." However, that same newspaper report indicated arson is, indeed, suspected. Division Chief Mike Sandulak of the...

Just three days after a Baptist home service was raided in Abadan, across the country in Turkmenabad (formerly Charjou) police raided an Adventist home on 7 August. The family's children and guests were watching a video of Finding Nemo, but police confiscated all the literature they could find, confiscated the owners' identity documents and pressured the husband to sign a statement that an "illegal" religious service was underway. The Adventist pastor in the capital Ashgabad has complained that his congregation cannot hold public worship as it cannot rent premises for worship, despite having state registration. "All hall managers turn us...
