Good news! Our application for use of the People's Plaza for a 4th of July celebratory tea party picnic--to be dubbed Independence Hall Tea Party III was approved! The People's Plaza is located directly across the street from Independence Mall, between Market & Chestnut Streets and 5th & 6th Streets (next to the Liberty Bell Pavilion). The grounds include a paved staging area surrounded by a grassy field suitable for family picnicking. Tens of thousands of citizens from Texas and around the region are expected to turn out on July 4, 2009 for America’s Tea Party, a rally and fireworks show to be held at the famous Southfork Ranch near Dallas, TX. Southfork is internationally known as the film location for the legendary “Dallas” television series.
