Asked for his thoughts about the resignation of Jeff Roe from Never Back Down over the weekend, DeSantis told reporters, “I’m not involved in any of that.” “As you guys know, it’s a separate entity and so it’s just … this stuff just happens, and it’s not in my purview of what’s out there,” DeSantis continued. He later added, “It’s not a distraction for me … I know media may want to do it but at the end of the day, I’m focused on the mission.” Roe’s resignation from Never Back Down came hours after a Washington Post report shared...

DURHAM, N.H. — Nearly 100 people gathered to hear Ron DeSantis’ updated pitch for the Republican presidential nomination in the basement of a shared-office center in Windham, New Hampshire, Friday night. After half a year on the campaign trail, the Florida governor is clearly more comfortable than he was during his early foray into this state in June, mixing light humor in with policy proposals like shooting border-crossers. When he first started campaigning here, he didn’t honor the tradition of taking questions from the stage. On Friday, he fielded query after query for long enough that the crowd, most of...

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis said he expects that if former president Donald Trump, the front-runner for the GOP nomination, were to lose the first Republican voting contests, in Iowa and New Hampshire, he won't accept the results. "He will say it's stolen no matter what. He will try to delegitimize the results. He did that against Ted Cruz in 2016," DeSantis said, referring to Cruz's victory in the Iowa caucuses. "I don't think there's been a single time he's ever been in competition for something, where he didn't get it, where he has accepted [it]," DeSantis added. "I think that...

KISSIMMEE, Fla. (AP) — A booth at the Florida Republican Party’s Freedom Summit made swift business of Donald Trump merchandise on Saturday, selling everything from socks to bathtub rubber ducks that paid tribute to the former president. Vendor Peter Crotty also had Ron DeSantis T-shirts. But he discounted those items from their original $25 down to $5, an 80% discount on the Florida governor’s name. The excess inventory needed to go, Crotty said. It was just one sign of Trump’s strength and DeSantis’ challenges in the 2024 Republican primary fight. Barely two months from the first nominating ballots being cast,...

It highlights DeSantis' efforts to bring Americans back from Israel, to recover after hurricane damage and his deployment of Florida troops to the southern border. [cut] The surprise ad launch also comes just days after a new Des Moines Register/NBC News/Mediacom Iowa Poll found DeSantis and former United Nations ambassador Nikki Haley tied for second place among likely Republican caucusgoers.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis criticized the indictment of rival Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump saying there had been double standards in issuing charges. DeSantis also promised to fire FBI chief Christopher Wray as one of his first acts as President if elected - while suggesting that if Trump had been charged with crimes - then Hillary Clinton should have also faced charges. 'With me, you know, you'll have a new FBI Director on day one. We'll clean out all these agencies on day one. We're going to have a major overhaul.
