Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) took a swipe at Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) on Thursday, likening her to the “kinds of people that I threw out of bars” after the Georgia Republican aggressively confronted her outside the House chamber the day before. "I used to work as a bartender. These are the kinds of people that I threw out of bars all the time,” Ocasio-Cortez told reporters on Capitol Hill. “For me, this isn't even about how I feel. It's that I refuse to allow young women, people of color, people who are standing up for what they believe, to...

When you consider the crimes of the People’s Republic of China, you probably don’t think of overfishing as one of them. But this might be one of the most devastating and long-lasting international crises to come out of Beijing. There’s plenty of fish in the sea? Not for much longer if the Chinese government keeps having its way.All told, three billion people rely on fish as their primary source of protein, according to the World Wildlife Fund. Given that this is nearly half of the world’s population, the need to carefully manage the world’s supply of fish is absolutely crucial...

Child care is infrastructure, according to Sen. Elizabeth Warren. Health-care aides for seniors are infrastructure, say Democratic activists. “Anti-racism” is infrastructure, we’re told. But these things aren’t infrastructure; they’re just things Democrats want funded with taxpayer money. You know what’s actually infrastructure? Bridges and pipelines. On that front, we’re not doing so well. The shutdown of the Colonial Pipeline this week demonstrated that our actual infrastructure is vulnerable and that our lives can be disrupted quickly when it fails. Hackers, undeterred by the FBI and Homeland Security officials who are supposed to be protecting critical infrastructure, managed to lock down...

The Philippines on Wednesday reported what it said were incursions into its exclusive economic zone (EEZ) by 287 maritime militia vessels from China, in a further sign of cracks reappearing in a relationship after a period of rapprochement. “This incident along with continued illegal incursions of foreign vessels sighted near Philippine-held islands have been submitted to relevant agencies for the possible diplomatic actions,” the task force on the South China Sea said in a statement. The Philippine foreign ministry has repeatedly complained to China in recent weeks about a “swarming and threatening presence” of Chinese vessels in its EEZ and...

A Minnesota judge on May 13 delayed the trial of three former police officers who were involved in the arrest of George Floyd in Minneapolis last year, after one of the officer’s defense attorneys argued that the medical examiner who performed Floyd’s autopsy was coerced by prosecutors. Thomas Lane, J. Kueng, and Tou Thao, according to court records, will now face trial on March 7, 2022, a delay of more than six months from the previous date. Hennepin County District Judge Peter Cahill told a pretrial hearing in Minneapolis that he wanted to give time for federal prosecutors to pursue...

France has banned schools from using 'gender neutral' spellings, saying they are a threat to the French language. The country's education ministry issued the ruling last week after a push to include full stops in the middle of written words - dubbed 'midpoints' - which allow both male and female forms to be represented simultaneously. But the Academie Francaise, which is responsible for guarding the French language, said the move is 'harmful to the practice and understanding of [French.]'

Joe Biden's presidency should have begun as a success story. Biden inherited a good economic situation, benefited from Operation Warp Speed's quick development of a vaccine, and got to see his predecessor make a disgrace of himself with his election-rigging conspiracy theories. Yet instead of heading into the Roaring Twenties, liberating locked-up denizens to endless dinner parties and dances, we're seemingly regressing into 1978. With Jerome Powell promising to keep interest rates around that historically safe level of near-zero, Biden is pumping trillions of dollars into the economy to bail out blue states already benefiting from Donald Trump's own fast...

While it's encouraging that the CDC caught up with the science enough to acknowledge that "if you are fully vaccinated, you are protected," and thus has relaxed mask mandates. That being said, Reagan acknowledged in her reporting that "Fully vaccinated individuals are still required to abide by local, state, and federal mask-wearing mandates." Of course, but if you still wear a mask after you've been fully vaccinated, that really should be your only reason for doing so. It's frustrating, then, that Thursday night's most recent live update from the New York Times' reporting on the CDC's announcement would be that...

Honeymooners Kisser Disser May 16th, 2019 – Catchphrases can often become as iconic on a television show as the characters themselves. Lucy Ricardo had some splainin’ to do. Arnold Drummond wanted to know what Willis was talkin’ ’bout. Joey Tribbiani wanted to know how all the ladies were doin’. And while most catchphrases are pretty harmless, some are harder to swallow (that’s what she said). On The Honeymooners, Ralph Kramden had a couple catchphrases solely for his wife, Alice. Fed up with her misgivings about his latest get-rich-quick schemes he would lean in, raise his fist and shout ”One of...

Former Pfizer Vice President and Chief Science Officer Dr. Mike Yeadon today endorsed the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons (AAPS) Guide to Home-Based COVID Treatment Step-By-Step Doctors’ Plan, calling it a "remarkable document," and saying that "if it was widely known and understood, it would end the global fear-based pandemic tomorrow.""Inspired and led by Dr Peter McCullough, it fills in the blanks of what is otherwise treatment nihilism for COVID-19," Yeadon said. "Everyone should be aware of this. If it was widely known and understood, it would end the global fear-based pandemic tomorrow.

CHRISSY Teigen’s Cravings kitchenware line has been removed from Target’s website following Courtney Stodden’s claims she was “bullied” by the star, The Sun can reveal. Earlier this week, Courtney said she was urged by Chrissy to “kill themselves” at just 16-years-old in addition to her publicly posting a series of hateful messages aimed towards the then-minor. As the backlash rages on, the social media personality's culinary empire is now in the line of fire as thousands of fans have vowed to “stop shopping” with the companies all together if they continued selling Cravings by Chrissy. It appears Target listened to...

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) numbers were just released and — in a bit of bad news for the Biden administration — they indicated inflation rose faster in April 2021 than it had in 12 years. The Consumer Price Index, which measures a basket of goods as well as energy and housing costs, rose 4.2% from a year earlier. A Dow Jones survey had expected a 3.6% increase. The month-to-month gain was 0.8%, against the expected 0.2%.…The increase in the annual headline CPI rate was the fastest since September 2008, while the monthly gain in core inflation was the largest since...

In just one year, the world’s largest lithium producers turned from cautiously optimistic about prices and very careful about expansion projects to decisively bullish on near, medium, and long-term demand for the key battery metal. The pandemic prompted many governments to commit to greener recovery and to raising significantly the share of renewable energy and electric vehicles (EVs), stoking demand for critical minerals this year. Lithium, alongside copper, has seen prices rising since automakers started pledging all-EV lineups and exponential growth in their electric car offerings. Rising immediate demand for lithium and expectations of surging demand in the longer term...

Several years ago, I was the sponsor for a guy going through conversion from what he was (in a religious sense) to Catholic. He wasn’t just any guy; he was a very senior CIA officer who has frequently appeared on television since he transitioned to think-tank denizen. The Rite of Christian Initiation as an Adult (RCIA) experience builds a bond between sponsor and candidate/catechumen that often goes beyond religious conversations. On one occasion, we talked politics and foreign policy. What separates us from the Third World in our politics, he opined, are the twin concepts of peaceful transfer of power via...

Despite the fact that disgraced Florida data tech Rebekah Jones was discredited multiple times last year over her claim that she was “fired” for refusing to “manipulate” the state’s coronavirus dashboard in a way that would make Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) look even better, Jones has continued to be lovingly embraced by an MSM who treats her like a martyr for supposedly being willing to lose her job by speaking Truth to Power.Among the numerous interviews she’s done, Jones has appeared on MSNBC and CNN multiple times, including in one May 2020 segment where anchor Chris Cuomo used her bogus...
