WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Democrats in the U.S. Congress took a major step toward impeaching President Donald Trump this week when they agreed on the rules for publicly televised hearings after weeks of testimony behind closed doors. But it is also a step onto more politically perilous terrain for a party seeking to persuade Americans that their cause to remove Republican Trump, who they accuse of abusing his power, is just.

PICTURE: BLAKE WILLIAMS To you anti-America sonsabltches, at Reddit, without Love: Blake Williams [1958-2017] was a close friend. Blake was Native American, conservative, and patriotic. He was a Trumper. He was a religious man. This is not his obituary, but he recently passed away—suddenly, and unexpectedly—at the age of just 59. Blake was a famous New Mexico radio personality. He lived on a ranch with 10 pets and horses. When I last saw him for lunch he was driving an old pickup truck with cracked windshield and hay in the back. He wore a black cowboy hat, white canvas duster,...

Everybody thinks that the whistleblower’s primary objective was to get rid of Trump because the deep state hates Trump and wants to get rid of Trump. And that’s true. But maybe the real reason for all this is because they’re getting scared to death that Barr and Durham are getting real close. ‘Cause folks, what Barr is doing, don’t forget, is a criminal investigation now. They will, if they haven’t, impanel a grand jury. It is from all of that that you get indictments. There is a race on. There is a race between Schiff and Pelosi, the deep state,...

Conservative pundit Tomi Lahren has been mocked after revealing she dressed up as left-wing congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for Halloween. The Fox Nation host shared a wide-eyed picture of herself wearing large glasses, a blazer and a dark brown wig while clutching a copy of "The Communist Manifesto" by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels. Lahren also added a purple book with "Green New Deal" written on the front to her festive outfitâ —a nod to the Democrats signature policy proposal. Showing off her costume on Twitter, the Fox host said: "I decided to dress up as the person who scares me most....

The senior White House lawyer who placed a record of President Donald Trump’s July 25 call with Ukraine’s president in a top-secret system also instructed at least one official who heard the call not to tell anyone about it, according to testimony heard by House impeachment investigators this week. Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, a decorated Army officer who served as the National Security Council’s director for Ukraine, told lawmakers that he went to the lawyer, John Eisenberg, to register his concerns about the call, in which Trump asked Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to investigate the Bidens, according to a person...

A majority of Americans say Hunter Biden’s role on the board of a Ukrainian energy company was the result of bad judgment, according to a new Harvard CAPS/Harris poll. Fifty-eight percent of respondents said that Hunter Biden’s role on the board of Burisma Holdings between 2014 and 2019 was a result of “bad judgment.” Twenty-seven percent of those polled said they thought it was illegal for former Vice President Joe Biden's son to serve on the board. Hunter Biden is not accused of any crimes for being a board member on Burisma. "When told about Hunter Biden’s financial deals in...

Harris is cutting her entire field team in the state and closing field offices in Portsmouth, Manchester, and Keene, the campaign said. Her campaign had more than 20 staffers in the state. "We had to lay people off. Yes, we did. We had to lay people off," Harris said in Ankeny, Iowa, on Friday. "I am very sad about that. It was a very tough decision that we had to make, but frankly a necessary decision. I am all-in in Iowa. And I intend to win."

The eastern German city of Dresden has passed a resolution declaring a “Nazi emergency.” In a policy statement, passed by the city council on Wednesday night, councillors noted that “anti-democratic, anti-pluralist, misanthropic and right-wing extremist attitudes and actions, including violence in Dresden, are occurring with increasing frequency.” “We have a Nazi problem in Dresden and have to do something about it,” said Max Aschenbach, a councillor for Die Partei, a satirical political party, who initiated the measure. […] The anti-Islam and xenophobic PEGIDA movement began in the city in 2014. PEGIDA, which stands in German for Patriotic Europeans against the...

The federal government's outstanding public debt has surpassed $23 trillion for the first time in history, according to data from the Treasury Department released on Friday. Growing budget deficits have added to the nation's debt at a speedy rate since President Trump took office. The debt has grown some 16 percent since Trump's inauguration, when it stood at $19.9 trillion. It passed $22 trillion for the first time just 10 months ago. Of the $23 trillion figure, just under $17 trillion was in the category of debt held by the public, which is a more useful gauge of the debt...

The S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite closed at record highs on Friday after the October employment report blew past estimates. The U.S. economy added 128,000 jobs last month, well ahead of the 89,000 that economists surveyed by Dow Jones were expecting. The unemployment rate ticked up to 3.6 percent as wages grew at a 3 percent year-over-year clip. The better-than-expected results came despite the pressure from a six-week General Motors strike. Helping fuel the rally was improvement in the manufacturing sector. ISM Manufacturing reading rose 0.5 percentage points to 48.3 in October, but that was below the 48.9 that economists...

There were some reports that House Democrats didn’t have the votes. The 25 or so Democrats who won in Trump districts know the polling. In battleground states, Trump’s impeachment isn’t popular. These folks didn’t win their 2018 races by massive margins. One bad move or vote could sink them, but those concerns were extinguished yesterday when House Democrats mustered 232 votes for this coup attempt—sorry, I mean impeachment push. Pelosi must’ve promised these members all the cover ad support they need, along with the pin number to the Democrats’ 2020 war chest. Still, that didn’t stop the National Republican Congressional...

Former Representative Beto O’Rourke of Texas is dropping out of the presidential race, ending a campaign in which he struggled for months to recapture the energy of his insurgent 2018 Senate candidacy on a national stage full of other big personalities and liberal champions. Mr. O’Rourke made the decision to quit the race in the middle of this week, on the eve of a gathering Friday of Democratic presidential candidates in Iowa, according to people familiar with his thinking. He is not expected to run for any other office in 2020, despite persistent efforts by party leaders and political donors...

This is just more degeneracy from the left. They’re working overtime to crush this country’s moral values and turn us into a godless and soulless wasteland, free to engage in every perverted fetish that slithers down the pike. Feminists claim they don’t want women to be sexualized by men – but they’re lying. They want to be sexualized, why else would they lobby to go topless? Thanks to the “Free The Nipple” campaign, women as young as 11-years-old can now go topless in public – turning Ft. Collins neighborhoods into erotic porno and pedophile zones. Why would any woman want...
