I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone: for kings and all those in authority that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.

You are sovereign, holy and true. We come before You in praise and adoration. We exalt You, our Lord, our God, our King.
Father God, we pray for our earthly government.
For those in leadership who serve our Lord and our republic, we pray for blessings and protection.
Unfortunately much of our leadership desires war and destruction, so we pray for their salvation. We pray that they will no longer entertain evil. We pray that they repent and invite You to do a mighty work in their hearts. May their venom be transformed into love?
Father God, if it is not Your Will that our wayward leaders repent, then Lord we pray for Your church. We pray that we will remain steadfast in You and not be poisoned by the evil that governs us:
Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for Thine is the Kingdom, and the power and the glory forever.
