ALL ISRAEL...Romans 11:26

All Israel. That Paul is not teaching universal salvation for either Gentiles or Jews has already been shown (see on v. 25). Furthermore, why should only the generation of Jews living in the time of the end be assured of salvation by some kind of divine decree? Paul has expressed his hope that “some of them” (v. 14) might be saved. It seems evident from this that he believed that many would reject all efforts to save them, and that accordingly he never envisioned the conversion of the entire nation.

Some commentators hold that the faithful remnant (see on v. 5) to which are added those Jews who accept Christ during the Christian Era, constitute the “all Israel” who will be saved. This view is based on the observation that Paul’s burden in ch. 11 is the salvation of his fellow Israelites. He contrasts their salvation with that of the Gentiles. The two groups are distinguished throughout the chapter by the Jews’ being referred to in the third person and the Gentiles in the second. The salvation of the former is described by the expression “all Israel shall be saved”; that of the latter by “the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.”

Other commentators hold that “all Israel” represents spiritual Israel. This view is based on the belief that Paul is here completing his illustration of the olive tree. He has shown how the branches representing the unbelieving Jews were broken off, and the wild olive shoots, representing the Gentiles, grafted in. He has shown, also, how the severed branches could be reunited with the parent stock. By the grafting in of these branches the tree representing spiritual Israel would again be made whole. “All Israel” would thus represent the totality of those saved, Jews and Gentiles, who together constitute “all” of true Israel (Rom. 2:28, 29; Gal. 6:15, 16).

The original chrstians didn't have convenient printed Protestant bibles where they could jump from one "testament" to another and reconcile them. The original chrstians had only the apostles and their successors. Chrstianity isn't Biblical, and "Biblical chrstianity" is a contradiction in terms.

The church authorities existed before the "new testament" had ever been written, canonized, or made easily available. The early chrstians had only their leaders, and that's where the teachings of chrstianity come from--NOT from the Bible.

There is only ONE Biblical religion. Please open your hearts before it's too late.

Poor ‘Mary’…

Such a hard job to please her worshippers and God at the same time!

Probably an impossible task she was given. Hope she really has enough grace to endure it.

I am quite certain that after the Rapture hits that the people who are left behind will be so furious with their leaders that mass lynchings will take place.

Also, a good reading of Ezekiel 34 and Matthew 23 will clue many in on how seriously God views the responsibility of the shepherd of His flock.

"Regenerated" means a total renewal of one's being, to the People of The Way, spiritual rebirth that affects one's behavior toward sin.

Something then unregenerate simply cannot wrap their minds around, hence the constant accusation that if one is secure in their salvation, they look at it as a license to sin.

Likewise, I'm sure. You haven't answered mine about Francis.

That said.....

Do you deny that I, or any other Catholic, have the right to read Scripture for ourselves?

Of course not. Why would you even think that? Show me where you think I even implied that.

Do you claim the right to tell us that our understanding of the Scriptures is "ERROR" should it differ from yours?

Yes. And not only the right, but the duty to do so.

However, you also have the right to not accept the correction and go on believing things not taught in Scripture but fabricated and taught by your church hierarchy.

>>Yes. And not only the right, but the duty to do so.

OK ... then, either:

1) I have the right and duty to tell YOU that YOUR understanding of the Scriptures is "ERROR", should it differ from mine ... which leaves us pointing at each with irresolvable accusations of "ERROR".

or

2) Neither of us has either that right or that duty, since the reading and understanding of the Scriptures is a private thing not subject to any third-party human authority. In that case, we should simply state our beliefs and leave it at that ... attempting to definitively call something "ERROR" is beyond our competence.

You mention covenants, but you refuse to list them?

Jeremiah 3:16 New International Version

In those days, when your numbers have increased greatly in the land,” declares the LORD, “people will no longer say, ‘The ark of the covenant of the LORD.’ It will never enter their minds or be remembered; it will not be missed, nor will another one be made.

#179 I just wish there was a list of these translation errors so that we poor folk who haven't had the luxury to study them ourselves could checkout the Spreadsheet of Errors; too.

#184  It is the responsibility of the church pastor to ensure his flock is properly educated regarding matters such as these.

The Lord Will Be Israel’s Shepherd

1 The word of the Lord came to me: “Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel; prophesy and say to them: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Woe to you shepherds of Israel who only take care of yourselves! Should not shepherds take care of the flock? You eat the curds, clothe yourselves with the wool and slaughter the choice animals, but you do not take care of the flock. You have not strengthened the weak or healed the sick or bound up the injured. You have not brought back the strays or searched for the lost. You have ruled them harshly and brutally. So they were scattered because there was no shepherd, and when they were scattered they became food for all the wild animals. My sheep wandered over all the mountains and on every high hill. They were scattered over the whole earth, and no one searched or looked for them.

“‘Therefore, you shepherds, hear the word of the Lord: As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, because my flock lacks a shepherd and so has been plundered and has become food for all the wild animals, and because my shepherds did not search for my flock but cared for themselves rather than for my flock, therefore, you shepherds, hear the word of the Lord: 10 This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I am against the shepherds and will hold them accountable for my flock. I will remove them from tending the flock so that the shepherds can no longer feed themselves. I will rescue my flock from their mouths, and it will no longer be food for them.

11 “‘For this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I myself will search for my sheep and look after them. 12 As a shepherd looks after his scattered flock when he is with them, so will I look after my sheep. I will rescue them from all the places where they were scattered on a day of clouds and darkness. 13 I will bring them out from the nations and gather them from the countries, and I will bring them into their own land. I will pasture them on the mountains of Israel, in the ravines and in all the settlements in the land. 14 I will tend them in a good pasture, and the mountain heights of Israel will be their grazing land. There they will lie down in good grazing land, and there they will feed in a rich pasture on the mountains of Israel. 15 I myself will tend my sheep and have them lie down, declares the Sovereign Lord. 16 I will search for the lost and bring back the strays. I will bind up the injured and strengthen the weak, but the sleek and the strong I will destroy. I will shepherd the flock with justice.

17 “‘As for you, my flock, this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I will judge between one sheep and another, and between rams and goats. 18 Is it not enough for you to feed on the good pasture? Must you also trample the rest of your pasture with your feet? Is it not enough for you to drink clear water? Must you also muddy the rest with your feet? 19 Must my flock feed on what you have trampled and drink what you have muddied with your feet?

20 “‘Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says to them: See, I myself will judge between the fat sheep and the lean sheep. 21 Because you shove with flank and shoulder, butting all the weak sheep with your horns until you have driven them away, 22 I will save my flock, and they will no longer be plundered. I will judge between one sheep and another. 23 I will place over them one shepherd, my servant David, and he will tend them; he will tend them and be their shepherd. 24 I the Lord will be their God, and my servant David will be prince among them. I the Lord have spoken.

25 “‘I will make a covenant of peace with them and rid the land of savage beasts so that they may live in the wilderness and sleep in the forests in safety. 26 I will make them and the places surrounding my hill a blessing.[a] I will send down showers in season; there will be showers of blessing. 27 The trees will yield their fruit and the ground will yield its crops; the people will be secure in their land. They will know that I am the Lord, when I break the bars of their yoke and rescue them from the hands of those who enslaved them. 28 They will no longer be plundered by the nations, nor will wild animals devour them. They will live in safety, and no one will make them afraid. 29 I will provide for them a land renowned for its crops, and they will no longer be victims of famine in the land or bear the scorn of the nations. 30 Then they will know that I, the Lord their God, am with them and that they, the Israelites, are my people, declares the Sovereign Lord. 31 You are my sheep, the sheep of my pasture, and I am your God, declares the Sovereign Lord.’”

Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples: “The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat. So you must be careful to do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach. They tie up heavy, cumbersome loads and put them on other people’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them.

“Everything they do is done for people to see: They make their phylacteries[a] wide and the tassels on their garments long; they love the place of honor at banquets and the most important seats in the synagogues; they love to be greeted with respect in the marketplaces and to be called ‘Rabbi’ by others.

“But you are not to be called ‘Rabbi,’ for you have one Teacher, and you are all brothers. And do not call anyone on earth ‘father,’ for you have one Father, and he is in heaven. 10 Nor are you to be called instructors, for you have one Instructor, the Messiah. 11 The greatest among you will be your servant. 12 For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.

Seven Woes on the Teachers of the Law and the Pharisees

13 “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You shut the door of the kingdom of heaven in people’s faces. You yourselves do not enter, nor will you let those enter who are trying to. [14] [b]

15 “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You travel over land and sea to win a single convert, and when you have succeeded, you make them twice as much a child of hell as you are.

16 “Woe to you, blind guides! You say, ‘If anyone swears by the temple, it means nothing; but anyone who swears by the gold of the temple is bound by that oath.’ 17 You blind fools! Which is greater: the gold, or the temple that makes the gold sacred? 18 You also say, ‘If anyone swears by the altar, it means nothing; but anyone who swears by the gift on the altar is bound by that oath.’ 19 You blind men! Which is greater: the gift, or the altar that makes the gift sacred? 20 Therefore, anyone who swears by the altar swears by it and by everything on it. 21 And anyone who swears by the temple swears by it and by the one who dwells in it. 22 And anyone who swears by heaven swears by God’s throne and by the one who sits on it.

23 “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You give a tenth of your spices—mint, dill and cumin. But you have neglected the more important matters of the law—justice, mercy and faithfulness. You should have practiced the latter, without neglecting the former. 24 You blind guides! You strain out a gnat but swallow a camel.

25 “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence. 26 Blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and dish, and then the outside also will be clean.

27 “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of the bones of the dead and everything unclean. 28 In the same way, on the outside you appear to people as righteous but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness.

29 “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You build tombs for the prophets and decorate the graves of the righteous. 30 And you say, ‘If we had lived in the days of our ancestors, we would not have taken part with them in shedding the blood of the prophets.’ 31 So you testify against yourselves that you are the descendants of those who murdered the prophets. 32 Go ahead, then, and complete what your ancestors started!

33 “You snakes! You brood of vipers! How will you escape being condemned to hell? 34 Therefore I am sending you prophets and sages and teachers. Some of them you will kill and crucify; others you will flog in your synagogues and pursue from town to town. 35 And so upon you will come all the righteous blood that has been shed on earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah son of Berekiah, whom you murdered between the temple and the altar. 36 Truly I tell you, all this will come on this generation.

37 “Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were not willing. 38 Look, your house is left to you desolate. 39 For I tell you, you will not see me again until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.’[c]

Every covenant made with literal Israel is CONDITIONAL upon OBEDIENCE.

"I will do X if you obey Me"

Is there a covenant with Israel that states something along the lines of "even if you keep on sinning, rejecting my word, my commandments, my laws, you are still my people and always will be. I was just kidding about My law. I really don't care. Once you're in, you're in forever, no matter what. Don't believe in Me as your Messiah? Kill me and my followers? No problem. You guys are the best. See you all in heaven. (sort of sounds like OSAS/OJAJ, doesn't it?)

Nope. Lawlessness will not be tolerated by God. Chance after chance, after chance. They were given EXACTLY 490 years to repent and then accept the Messiah. They failed. I guess they didn't learn their lesson.

Daniel 9:

24Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. 25Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. 26And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. 27And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

...responsibility of the church pastor...

But who is it that TEACHES this pastor?

And how does he know if he's getting the straight skinny?

Both good questions, and that's why the pastor has to look at all sides of an issue, even though he might not like what he hears, and evaluate everything. Then that pastor has to have the leading of the Holy Ghost in his life. Without Him, he won't be able to perform the task he's been given.

Being a pastor, or shepherd, of the flock is not a calling to be taken lightly, and if he is not willing to hear or be taught things he doesn't like or agree with, then he shouldn't be behind the pulpit. I know, cuz I've been there, and the hardest thing for a pastor, for anyone, to do is acknowledge when and where they fall short. The hardest words to ever tell anyone, no matter what your occupation, are these three, "I was wrong."

Now, as for the passages you shared, I noticed you used the NIV, which is perhaps the worst version of the Bible ever. I would encourage you to put the NIV, KJV and the 1599 Geneva Bible side by side by side, then compare them. I think you'll find how lacking the NIV is compared to versions that came out before Hort and Wescott did their damage to the Holy Scriptures. There is a program called e-Sword that will let you download many different Bible versions and would be helpful for you in your studies. The link is below.

I do not *interpret* Scripture because I am not trying to change the meaning of what is said.

The only reason to *interpret* Scripture is to make it mean something other than what is said.

I read it, take it at face value and believe it and obey it.

Understanding Scripture is beyond any human’s paygrade, but the Holy Spirit is the one who teaches us. No Immoral, corrupted religious institution has that *right* or *authority* to do so either.

So you still haven’t answered my previous questions. Why not?

1 Corinthians 2:12-14 Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might understand the things freely given us by God. And we impart this in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, interpreting spiritual truths to those who are spiritual. The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned.

Born again believers have the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit to guide them and enlighten them.

Those who are not born again, do not have the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit and have no more ability to discern truth than a blind person can see light. They are dead spiritually and CANNOT understand the things of God because they are separated from Him.

More like when “Christians” find out that OSAS/OJAJ, the secret rapture, Christians can’t sin, God’s law isn’t mandatory for Christians, the 7th-day-Sabbath was chisled out of the 10 commandments, etc... are all lies and they have lost their salvation because they believed in it and followed the likes of Ravi Zacharias and his ideology.

Those alive at the end of the world will encounter the mark of the beast and will either take it or not. Most Christians, who hate God’s law and his Sabbath, will gladly take it, thinking they are doing the will of God. Mark my words.
