The Pope has given the King two fragments from the True Cross - said to have been used in the crucifixion of Jesus Christ - to mark his Coronation.
The relic, described as a “personal gift” from Pope Francis to His Majesty, was formally presented to the Royal Household by Vatican representatives at the Chapel Royal at St James’s Palace last week.
In what was hailed a “significant ecumenical gesture”, the King requested that the shards be incorporated into a new processional cross that he commissioned for the Church in Wales to celebrate its centenary before becoming monarch.
Both fragments are shaped as crosses, one measuring 1cm and the other 5mm. They have now been set into the larger silver cross behind a rose crystal gemstone.
On the day of his Coronation, the cross will be used to lead the procession into Westminster Abbey, a decision said to reflect the King’s “deep and long standing affection for Wales”.

Hey Anti-Catholic bigot, save your hardon for your husband.
Your ignorance is on FULL display!
That was brilliant. Thanks.
"Pieces of the True Cross! Biiiig ones!" :)
You proved my point exactly.
When you reject his church you reject his gifts too.
Relics are God’s gift to the faithful.
How does your church/ basketball court compare to a house of God?
Glad you enjoyed it. He's got another good video today. He's compared the protection rackets of the past, to the global billionaires of today, wanting control over every aspect of our lives, and we're paying for them to do that. He asks: When are we going to stop funding them? and what would happen if we all collectively stopped paying our taxes, fees, and the other things that keep them going?
He does a show about once a week, featuring what he calls "a love letter to the people of the British Isles." In those he talks about various historical people, and places in the U.K. The guy has a gift of speech, and he knows his history. He started out as an archaeologist, then began hosting various historical programs that aired in the U.K. He's a firm believer that everything that is happening in today's world, has already happened before in some shape or form, and he's spot on in that thought.
I'm a sofa historian nowadays, who reads a great deal of history books on several historical periods. I spent many years in my earlier life doing actual historical research on the Civil War, traveling to the Nat'l Archives, also visiting various historical societies, libraries, etc., going through their manuscript collections, tracking down descendants. I focused on some of the regiments, and the people who were in them. I had a full-time job, and used my vacations to do my research. It was one of the most fulfilling periods of my life. If you study history, it's not hard to make comparisons between incidents from the past, and apply them to what is going on in the world today. Sadly, a lot of people can't see it, or won't bother to learn about it. History does repeat itself...quite regularly in fact.
His church is all around. Where 2 or more gather. Think any of that matters where Christians are highly persecuted. Speaking of persecuting and killing. Which religion/church has persecuted and killed the most Christians?
Islam
Next stupid question?
You’d be wrong sir. The Catholic church has. History is a real son of a gun.
On Islam, who started modern day Islam?
Prove it.
Prove it? It’s history. Prove WW1? Might as well ask that silliness too.
Treasures are in heaven but good luck with your idolatry.
I knew it. You can’t prove it. Just more B.S. from you.
No BS. I bring this up a lot because I give a damn about people. I know there are many Christians who fly under the catholic banner. If they knew the truth they’d run not walk away. Jesus Christ is the only way. Not a murdering, savage man made religion.
More B.S. You haven’t proven anything.
You related to Jack Chick?
So you deny the divinity of Jesus Christ. I'm not surprised.
Nah, Jesus is the Son of God. His only Son who came and died for us and rose again. Faith alone is required to be saved.
You’re attempting to put words in my mouth that aren’t there. I simply posted what the RC church teaches. Is it wrong?
Protestants are always iconoclasts until they read history.
