A fire hose shunt was installed. May his bilirubin come down so they can hit this with chemo. Time will tell but your prayers held the surgeons fingers. I think it worked.

Chicory is interesting to me having taken up the new hobby of roasting coffee. BTW, my blessing to you and yours. As I understand it it is like Belgian endive at a stage of development, or am I being stupid. Likely since right now my brain is spinning out of control. Thank you for your prayers. May God bless you a million times your wishes.

The mass prayer has yielded some promising results. Big stent in and tomorrow will tell. May billy be beat down like the schoolyard bully he is. (Biliruben, the liver functions of my non drinking brother) May the chemo have our blessing too.

Prayers for your brother! My dad had pancreatic cancer. He would’ve died sooner, because his bile ducts were choked off from the cancer. They had to do an ERCP procedure and place stents to open up the bile ducts.

As to chicory, endive, and escarole.... no wonder people are confused because the names are used interchangeably! And there are a few types of endive, ranging from the tight oval (Belgian) to a head of frizzle (frisée). The chicory that people make coffee from is different from the endive ones.
The chicories are the blue part of the daisy family—their color being my main interest in them as a coffee-abstainer and one who thinks being a grown-up means never having to eat endive again!
