James 5:13-18 Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praise. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working. Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed fervently that it might not rain, and for three years and six months it did not rain on the earth. Then he prayed again, and heaven gave rain, and the earth bore its fruit.
And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” And he said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give from the spring of the water of life without payment. The one who conquers will have this heritage, and I will be his God and he will be my son.
James 1: 5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.
Father, In these days of upheaval, we aren't even sure where to begin praying. There are so many needs we have. We ask for wisdom, then to pray according to Your will, that YOUR will be done.
We know that it is Your desire that all men come to repentance so we pray that You would move in the hearts and minds of those who do not yet know You. Convict them of sin, righteousness, and judgment. Please remove from their hearts and minds the blindness that Satan has put there and let them recognize Your Turth when they hear it. Give them hearts of flesh and a hunger and thirst for righteousness.
So often we pray for You to send forth laborers, and yet it is WE who should be going, so we say with Isaiah, Here am I, send me.
Give us opportunities to share Christ with those around us. Let us use the time wisely and send us to those who You know are ready to hear. Give us the words they need to hear.
We also pray for the Supreme Court as this abortion decision is coming to a head. The enemy is reacting violently, and we ask, Father, that You would thwart their plans for violence and intimidation. Let their plans be exposed, that communications and plans would miscarry, and come back on them. Protect everyone they are deciding to target simply for the fact that we want to protect the lives of human babies.
Lord, do a miraculous work and turn the hearts of the Justices towards You and have them make a righteous decision in this matter.
We thank you, that although it seems to be that things are falling apart, YOU are still in control and that they are really falling into place. Give us wisdom to navigate these times and being glory to Your name.
