Marjorie Taylor Greene: I Was Raised Catholic, but Wicked Bishops Have ‘Driven Me Away’ from the Church

‘Mrs. Greene's statement about leaving the Church is as enlightening as it is saddening,’ commented Michael Hichborn, president of the Lepanto Institute.
(LifeSiteNews) – Following criticism of comments she made about the U.S. Catholic bishops, conservative firebrand U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene revealed that she was raised Catholic but left the Church “with great sorrow” when she had kids because she had concerns about the left-wing hierarchy protecting abusive priests.
“With great sorrow, and unwavering faith in Jesus Christ, I stopped attending Catholic Mass when I became a mother, because I realized that I could not trust the Church’s leadership to protect my children from pedophiles, and that they harbored monsters even in their own ranks,” the now-evangelical said in a lengthy statement.
The Georgia Republican was responding to the Catholic League’s Bill Donahue, who slammed her for suggesting in an interview with Church Militant’s Michael Voris that “Satan is controlling the Church.”
“The Church is not doing its job. And it’s not adhering to the teachings of Christ,” she added.
“It’s the Church leadership I was referring to when I invoked the Devil,” Greene clarified on Twitter. “Just so we’re clear, bishops, when I said ‘controlled by Satan,’ I wasn’t talking about the Catholic Church. I was talking about you.”
“The Catholic Church must throw out these monsters instead of lecturing the people its own bishops have driven away,” she continued, blasting the U.S. Catholic bishops as “some of the worst in the world” and “scheming bureaucrats in miters.” It was the “bishops’ wickedness” that drove her out of the Church, Greene said, and her own refusal to “submit the spiritual and physical livelihood of my children to these monsters.”
Greene, who is sometimes referred to as “MTG” (à la “AOC”), went on to say what many faithful Catholics who.......

You are proving my point, Catholic. The Essenes partook of the bread and wine ceremony and I am also partaking, according to what Jesus instituted the night before He went to the cross. I also, like the Essenes, commemorate the offering Jesus made to save my immortal soul. They would not violate the admonitions God gave against eating the blood, so I and they eat bread and wine to commemorate the sacrifice He made for us.
The LOL is how blatant you are refuting your own childish demand by supporting my following the ritual.

“Sad you are so spiritually dead in such a hideous cult rife with heresies and blasphemies,”
Well put.
What I find ironic is that the RC faithful on this forum are insistent that the Constitution must be followed strictly and nobody should add to it. But the Word Of God doesn’t get similar respect.

That’s a pretty weak verse.
Allegedly reading a record of someone else’s prayer does not equate by default to them praying for that person.
That is if Tobit is actually inspired, God breathed Scripture, factual, and there actually is an angel names Raphael, and this alleged event even happened.

Call no man father.
Ooops, suddenly Scripture is a living document, subject to reinterpretation any time it’s convenient to support Catholic doctrine.
Interesting observation, though that more respect is paid by Catholics to man-made documents than to Holy Spirit inspired, God breathed Scripture.
The way Catholicism has messed with Scripture should strike terror into the hearts of Catholics, but it doesn’t. It only seems to inspire arrogance.

It’s too bad Catholics weren’t as focused on following Jesus as they are in following Mary and their church.
Yes, just too bad for us...Not.
Your clueless to the Faith of the Church.
Focused on following Jesus?... Christ IS central for Catholics.. despite what you have been told... there is no need to Focus on something you already know and understand !!!
You focus on something when you can't see it very well- you need to focus because one is easily distracted...
Catholics take The Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity into our own bodies- to have full Communion with Christ...
Those who deny that flee from Christ as they did in John 6.
Christ did not call them back... they could only believe in Christ to a point- where their assent decided how to bind the will of God...just like we see today...
Catholics do not need no stinking focus... like one needs of examining Christ under a microscope- We have Faith and Trust in him- he is our center - always with us.
We keep Christ close- at home in our Crucifixes-
above the Altar at every Mass of Thanksgiving Prayer
to the tabernacle of Christ's perpetual presence,,
and in celebrating his Resurrection,
In every we time we bend a knee for him, or bow our heads in His name- we keep Christ with us...
in silent Eucharistic Adoration- where contemplation brings Christ into our heart,
And when we confess our sins to him, he is with us.
I could go on...but you were right- Christ, although mostly an intellectual assent for you... yoh need to look harder.
Christ is NOT substantially present for you...
You NEED to have concern to "focus" on and "study" him... because you do not know him- not in the way Catholics of the Church know Jim and take Christ into our bodies and lives.
Now I know it was a slip of the tongue...but to focus on something is for one who needs to see better...
but Christ is with us, as promised.
This post then is quite ironic for any Catholic.
While the post was to be just another FR Catholic smear jobs, and it garnered much success on the hater side fir sure- it backfires spectacularly for anyone paying attention.
Now I do admire MGT somewhat for her fight against the DC political corruption.
I am disappointed she has used her notoriety to smear the Catholic Faith and those faithful smeared as well.
And if she did not believe in the Real Presence of Christ in Mass - then she should by all means leave the Church.
St. PAUL warned us if we approach the precious Body and Blood of Christ unworthily- then we condemn ourselves.
Not believing in the Eucharist is as about as unworthy as you can get..
Even the satinists (who MGT claims is running the Church) even the Satanists believe Christ in the Eucharist and try to destroy him.
If her children weren't safe as Catholic family- by all means - why would anyone stay? So many choices await... like a mrnu at a restaurant!
So just where did MGT find a home? Well she found Christ to be in a Mega (millions) Church, with 10-15,000 other faithful.
It's near Atlanta and it's a thriving enterprise. The main preacher is a guy named Stanley.
His dad was a a famous preacher too. Imagine that.
Yes that family must have the preacher gene don't ya know.
But father and son- with competing Churches had some falling out over what was being sermonized..they believed in different Christian concepts or something.. theyre all patched up Now...
whatever..If that's what you people call worship...
But MGT traded an Altar and Tabernacle for an auditorium with sound and light shows and a 15,000 seat arena.
Not an easy place for a personal Lord and Savior...
You know those ones in the way back need focus.
If this is your idea of Chritian worship MGT... American auditorium entertainment with some feel good preaching thrown in...
You go for it.
You were privileged to have the Life of Christ in you through the Catholic faith.
But lo, it is not for everyone.
And just keep in mind- you will need to keep focus.

long before discovering even who and what John Darby is aboutDarby came along in the early 19th century and just like the founders of Mormonism and the Jehovah's Watnesses in the same period, in the same area - they all 3 created false philosophies.
Darby invented the 19th century rapture philosophy
In 1830 Darby met fifteen-year-old Mararet MacDonald, who claimed to have had a private revelation of a secret rapture that would occur shortly
flash alert -- the "secret rapture" didn't occur in 1830 nor in 1870 nor in 1914 nor in 2012 -- but the gullible who persist in believing in the 19thc century creation of secret pre-Trib rapture keep falling for it
Let's go through all of the hilarious rapture fails
- In a 1950 issue of US News and World reportGraham stated "Two years and it's all going to be over." Flash alert: we're past 1952 and still going
- April 1984 Graham proclaimed, "Anybody who's anybody believes that global war is imminent"
- 1995 "When will the end be?.... Every indication is that it will be sooner than we think
- Hal lindsey in 1970 The late great planet earth -- with the Rapture idea that the rapture was due before the end of the 1980s - FAIL
- 1978 Chuck Smith, Evangelical pastor wrote "The Lord is coming before the end of 1981" -- errr.. another fail
- Gary Wilburn in Christianity todayin 1979 wrote "The world must end within one generation from the birth of the state of Israel. Any opinion of world affairs that does not dovetail with this prophecy is dismissed" -- Rapturists claim that this means the rapture must occur within forty years of the founding of Israel in 1948 -- FAIL. The year 1988 came and went
- in 1988, Edgar Whisenat published and distributed his pamphlet 88 reasons why the rapture will be in 1988 -- He specified September as the month in which Christ would return -- bzzz. RAPTURE-FAIL again.
- But the rapture didn't occur in 1988 so Whisenant wrote 89 reasons why the rapture will be in 1989
- Then rapture-fails sorry rapturists claim that this 40 year should be counted from 1967 - RAPTURE-FAIL again as 2007 came and went.
- Jerry Falwell in 1989 sent out a mass mailing In just a few days we will enter what will be the final decade!
- On december 19, 1994, US News and world report stated that 1 in 5 Americans believed the world would end within a few years!
RAPTURE-FAIL once more
- Pat Robertson on May 12, 1994 We are talking about the final age of humankind right now... Please call and make a pledge... your dollars may not do any good in give years or so"
Then you got the Rapture-fails of the Left Behind series
- the Rapture fail of the "The Bible Code" that all life would be wiped out when a comet crashed into the earth in 2012 -- err.. that didn't happen, another rapture fail
Net - net, this fake 19th century philosophy has been shown to be continuously failing and still rapturists follow it - adding on a few more years each time they fail

Those born 500 years ago would concur. No they wouldn't - unless you have writings to prove that
If we can believe He tells time like the bible says, 1,000 years is a day. A day is as 1,000 years. 2 days, about 2,000 years.
Actually you get that false in 2 Pet 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing: that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
is as - not IS
1000 is the Jewish 1 century way of saying "very long time" -- which is why you have the same in Psalm 50:10 For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills.
1000 was "many" - and you see that repeated innumerably in the Bible (well numerably!)

No strawman
In Post #261 “not a single word about God that didn’t treat the Lord Almighty as some kind of accessory for Mary to carry around.”
TO which I ask you a simple question - “Do you believe that Jesus was God in the womb?”

Jesus set up His community, the Church, as the inauguration of His Kingdom. This is clear in the fact that He did not leave a book but the Church, the cornerstone of faith and truth
and you reject Him

The Church birthed the canon of the Bible, so it’s not “far removed” - no matter what you say.
The New Testament books were collected through the community of Christ that is the Church.

That video shows the non-Christian errors that you and the other rapturists excerpt 2 Thessalonians 2 incorrectly
In 2 Thessalonians, Paul is writing shortly before the Jewish-Roman War begins in 67 AD
[1] And we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and of our gathering together unto him: [2] That you be not easily moved from your sense, nor be terrified, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by epistle, as sent from us, as if the day of the Lord were at hand. [3] Let no man deceive you by any means, for unless there come a revolt first, and the man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition, [4] Who opposeth, and is lifted up above all that is called God, or that is worshipped, so that he sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself as if he were God. [5] Remember you not, that when I was yet with you, I told you these things?
[6] And now you know what withholdeth, that he may be revealed in his time. [7] For the mystery of iniquity already worketh; only that he who now holdeth, do hold, until he be taken out of the way. [8] And then that wicked one shall be revealed whom the Lord Jesus shall kill with the spirit of his mouth; and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming, him, [9] Whose coming is according to the working of Satan, in all power, and signs, and lying wonders, [10] And in all seduction of iniquity to them that perish; because they receive not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. Therefore God shall send them the operation of error, to believe lying:
The REVOLT - the Jewish revolt in 67 AD. The Man of Sin - Nero. And then Nero's statue in the temple.
Rapturists make the false claim that Christians had been secretly raptured 3.5 years before the Temple worship was corrupted
But this is deceptive and FALSE. Paul wrote Thessalonians to encourage a group of Christians who were afraid they had been "left behind" yet he explicitly does NOT speak of the "blessed hope of the rapture" to comfort the worried Thessalonians. NOWHERE in this passage is there even a message of the rapture. In this passage the rapture is missing in action.
The reason Paul does not mention the rapture as occuring before the appearance of the antichrist and before the second coming is simple: it never entered into his mind that anyone would believe Christ would rapture His Church before the final eschaton

“Call no man father.”
My dad was a Baptist minister in a small rural town, and he struck up a friendship with the RC priest in town. We called the priest “Mister George” or “Reverend George”, and the priest totally understood. Some of his parishioners didn’t, but he did.
They discussed theology often over 15 years, but AFAIK Rev. George never got saved. Super nice man.

I’m really quite surprised how angry you get just because I brought up the fact that you consistently apply more titles to Mary than to the Lord Jesus Christ.
Up to the point where you lash out and change the subject, including accusing me of calling things ‘crazy’ which I never actually did.
