John Adams: American Founder and Second President
The importance of July 2, 1776

By the grace God has given me,
I laid a foundation as a wise builder,
and someone else is building on it.

But each one should build with care.

1 Corinthians 3:10 (NIV)

--------------------

Heavenly Father –

May we remember this coming Independence Day (July 4th) the rich heritage we inherited from Judeo-Christian values, respected by our founding fathers, such as John Adams and Thomas Jefferson.

May we remember that You are the One and Only God of all people. Deliverer of those in bondage. The Author of Liberty:

And this first phrase of the first of the Ten Commandments is echoed in The Declaration of Independence, that the right of Liberty for all people comes from our Creator:

During this holiday celebrating Independence, may we declare a total Dependence on God, our Father, and the Son, our Lord Jesus Christ.

May we be filled with the power of the Spirit and with godly discernment. May we be equipped to fight the spiritual forces of darkness that threaten to gut the soul of our nation.

Grant us repentance and revival and healing in our land.

In Jesus Name we pray,
Amen

-----------

Give thanks to the LORD,
for He is good;
His love endures forever.

Psalm 118:1 (NIV)

Keep praying for America

Chaplain Jacob Duché leading the first prayer in the First Continental Congress at Carpenter's Hall, Philadelphia, September 1774: mezzotint, 1848.- Granger Collection - artist unknown

First Prayer of the First Continental Congress, 1774

O Lord our Heavenly Father, high and mighty King of kings, and Lord of lords, who dost from thy throne behold all the dwellers on earth and reignest with power supreme and uncontrolled over all the Kingdoms, Empires and Governments; look down in mercy, we beseech Thee, on these our American States, who have fled to Thee from the rod of the oppressor and thrown themselves on Thy gracious protection, desiring to be henceforth dependent only on Thee. To Thee have they appealed for the righteousness of their cause; to Thee do they now look up for that countenance and support, which Thou alone canst give. Take them, therefore, Heavenly Father, under Thy nurturing care; give them wisdom in Council and valor in the field; defeat the malicious designs of our cruel adversaries; convince them of the unrighteousness of their Cause and if they persist in their sanguinary purposes, of own unerring justice, sounding in their hearts, constrain them to drop the weapons of war from their unnerved hands in the day of battle!

Be Thou present, O God of wisdom, and direct the councils of this honorable assembly; enable them to settle things on the best and surest foundation. That the scene of blood may be speedily closed; that order, harmony and peace may be effectually restored, and truth and justice, religion and piety, prevail and flourish amongst the people. Preserve the health of their bodies and vigor of their minds; shower down on them and the millions they here represent, such temporal blessings as Thou seest expedient for them in this world and crown them with everlasting glory in the world to come. All this we ask in the name and through the merits of Jesus Christ, Thy Son and our Savior.

Amen.

Reverend Jacob Duché
Rector of Christ Church of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
September 7, 1774, 9 o’clock a.m.

Psalm 56

To the leader: according to The Dove on Far-off Terebinths. Of David. A Miktam, when the Philistines seized him in Gath.

1 Be gracious to me, O God, for people trample on me;
all day long foes oppress me;
2 my enemies trample on me all day long,
for many fight against me.
O Most High, 3when I am afraid,
I put my trust in you.
4 In God, whose word I praise,
in God I trust; I am not afraid;
what can flesh do to me?

5 All day long they seek to injure my cause;
all their thoughts are against me for evil.
6 They stir up strife, they lurk,
they watch my steps.
As they hoped to have my life,
7 so repay* them for their crime;
in wrath cast down the peoples, O God!

8 You have kept count of my tossings;
put my tears in your bottle.
Are they not in your record?
9 Then my enemies will retreat
on the day when I call.
This I know, that* God is for me.
10 In God, whose word I praise,
in the Lord, whose word I praise,
11 in God I trust; I am not afraid.
What can a mere mortal do to me?

12 My vows to you I must perform, O God;
I will render thank-offerings to you.
13 For you have delivered my soul from death,
and my feet from falling,
so that I may walk before God
in the light of life.

Dear Lord, we beseech thee to purge the monstrous Satanic evil that has seized control of our institutions and government ! Bring these evil individuals to justice ! Strike down these wicked individuals and institutions that blatantly and audaciously lie to the public about their true (evil) intentions while painting good people as the real enemy !

Do not let these servants of darkness prevail over your children ! Send forth your angels to liberate us, oh, Lord ! Hear our cries and help us, please, dear Lord !

AMEN !

Psalms
Chapter 11
To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.

“1 In the LORD put I my trust: how say ye to my soul, Flee as a bird to your mountain?

2 For, lo, the wicked bend their bow, they make ready their arrow upon the string, that they may privily shoot at the upright in heart.

3 If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?

4 The LORD is in his holy temple, the LORD’S throne is in heaven: his eyes behold, his eyelids try, the children of men. 5 The LORD trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth.

6 Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and an horrible tempest: this shall be the portion of their cup.

7 For the righteous LORD loveth righteousness; his countenance doth behold the upright.”

Chapter 12
To the chief Musician upon Sheminith, A Psalm of David.

“1 Help, LORD; for the godly man ceaseth; for the faithful fail from among the children of men.”

Help, LORD; for the godly man ceaseth; for the faithful fail from among the children of men.

Psalms 119:126 It is time for thee, LORD, to work: for they have made void thy law.

Help, Lord.

In Jesus’ Name, amen.
