Frank is just the current incumbent. As Dante wrote, the road to hell is lined with the skulls of bishops.
For me, I focus on my Lord and High Priest who is always present at the Eucharist.

It doesn’t surprise me that your view of the papacy has changed and not for the better. That’s why the logical answer is that he can’t be a true pope.

Pope Francis has a curious understanding of the bible, according to him it’s a real book that contains stories that may or not be ‘mythical’, like the flood of Noah. He seems to be quite unsure of the veracity of the Genesis account, so he quotes secular experts who agree it’s mythical . I am guessing he does this so as to not offend the atheists.Are you kidding? The Catholic Church has been at war with Genesis for a century (and so have all the other ancient churches). To accept the historicity of these stories is "Protestant" (despite the fact that every one of these churches used to accept it too). Ironically, they got their "anti-Protestant" weapons--evolution and historical criticism--from liberal Protestants, apparently because they weren't bright enough to come up with them themselves. Yes sir, those ancient churches sure do hate Protestantism . . . they hate it so much they're in bed with every liberal lesbian bishop out there.
If you didn't know already, I'm pretty sure by now that Catholic FReepers have dog-piled you and let you know in no uncertain terms that no one actually believed these stories were true until the nineteenth century (a lie, btw).

When you don’t hold scrioture as the final authority and put your own (catholic) mythology on a level equal to or even superior to scrioture this is what you get. Why would anyone be surprised?G-d is the final authority. Accepting an authentic interpretive oral tradition in no way belittles the truth of the Bible. Don't give them that to hide behind.

Don Novello is the comedian who played Sarducci. Just checked, and he's still alive at 78. I haven't watched SNL in at least 20 years I'd say.

Seek help.Will I have to take a number?
Let's try some easy math:
There are approximately 1.2 billion Catholics world wide;
If merely 1% of them 'ask' Mary for help just once each day;
that means that 12 million separate prayers are headed Mary's direction every day.
Given that there are 86,400 seconds per day... (24 hours times 60 minutes times 60 seconds)
...that means that Mary has to handle approximately 139 'requests' per second!
Purty good fer someone NOT 'divine'!

Well, just to be clear, God didn't have the power to punish sinners back then, even tho' He created the Heavens and the Earth, but He suddenly can now punish people for natural solar cycles/volcanic events with newfound powers.
I thought he was using coal and SUV's...
