The final report of the sexual misconduct of the late Ravi Zacharias was released last week. Many of us knew the findings would be devastating due to a preliminary report issued several months ago, and even before that report, credible accounts started to surface about his personal lifestyle, rife with sexual dalliances. Reading the report makes us shake our heads in disbelief. How could someone who came across as brilliant, gifted, and credible lead a secret life of such utter slavery to sexual sin?
What do we say?

In this blog I shall refrain from judging his eternal destiny, that is known but to God. Rather I shall focus on lessons we can learn from his decades-long deceptions, the pain endured by his many victims, not to mention the sense of utter betrayal felt by those who worked with him, and especially by his wife and family.
Dr. Lutzer gives some good food for thought about Ravi Zacharias’ secret life.
We have this treasure in earthen vessels. Don’t be surprised when someone posing as holy turns out to have feet of clay.
All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God says the holy scripture
For it is by grace that you are saved through faith says the holy scripture
I often find the largest break between RC church and Protestantism is the handling of sin. But God is clear all sin is a front to God without degree. Satan in his attempt work against the kingdom of heaven uses his weapons of doubt and derision. How can be hear the world of God from
A sinner says Satan. You see it isn’t genuine.
Discounting the faithful preaching of the gospels because it came a sinner would mean the faith cannot be handed down
This pastor will indeed have his judgment in heaven. On that day he will face his sins against God. But God alone has the power to set his sin apart from him and see him washed in the blood of the lamb into garments as white as snow.
For he is saved by Grace through faith and not the works of his hand. Just as any of us are sanctified but the confession that God so loved the world that he sent His only son that whosoever believes in Him shall have eternal life
Debating the relative value of the confession of the pastor through the lens of his sin seems to take away from the only thing we sinners can do which is point to the Saving Word of God
Doesn't this writer understand how Satan works?
Why send the forces of evil to corrupt someone already given over to evil? Satan wants to destroy believers, not regulars at Moe's Bar.
Ravi, like all of us had weaknesses. One can only imagine the temptation that came his way.
The creepy skeletor guy from CNN?
Yes, agree.
“But - How could someone who came across as brilliant, gifted, and credible lead a secret life of such utter slavery to sexual sin?
Doesn’t this writer understand how Satan works?”
I think Dr. Lutzer in this statement was just reflecting on what others have said about Ravi’s sin....he was not stating this as his evaluation of the situation.
Thanks for your food for thought.
Not sure who you mean? Ravi was not on CNN as far as I know...or is this a joke?
Agree about Dr. Lutzer.
Well said.
I say that most of us are utter hypocrites. We point bony fingers at others and fail to look at ourselves.
In this life how you perceive the human body and the role of sexual relations is of preeminent import to your soul!
The Bible is very clear and sanctifies for all eternity marriage between the male and the female
Within that context the incredible beauty of life can be created and the human race continued for generations and generations
Love is the premiere and most important thing feeling thought emotion that human beings will feel on this planet
With power tremendous power for certain human beings comes the notion that they can use that power to impose their sexual well on lesser human beings
Concubines and sexual slaves I’ve been around since the dawn of time
The karma that you create in this world with how you treat other human beings and in particular who you have intimate relations with as far and wide implications in this world and in your local environment
This preacher who I’ve never heard of it will never care to hear a sermon by obviously put forth a good message on the word of God but now unfortunately for him he will be remembered because he could not contain his lust
Again this story has been told many fold a time
It is neither too bad nor schadenfreude
It just is
After listening to him I am truly stunned; gob smacked as they say in Oz.
Jesus told us if we hate we murder.
If we lust we commit adultery.
So who are a bunch of murderers and adulterers to judge Ravi or anyone else?
I get your point, but quite possibly there are believers at Moe’s bar.
King David was the “Apple of God’s Eye,”.. and yet he was a filthy rotten scoundrel, philanderer and murderer.
As Christ said, “Let the one WITHOUT sin throw the first stone.” NO ONE does not have sin. If he says he has no sin, HE LIES!! That is what THE BOOK SAYS!! Not me. THE BOOK, THE HOLY BIBLE. Is it a huge disappointment, yes, of course. But, everyone, ABSOLUTELY EVERYONE, me, you, your pastor, your wife, my wife, your children, my children. EVERY holy man on the planet has and is full of sin. Paul makes that clear in Romans Chapter 7. Go read it. Starting around verse 13 I think. Read it all. Sin is IN ALL OF US. Rivi, me and you. EVERYONE is within GOD’s grace. All it takes is repentance. Everyone has the chance, right up to the second of death, to repent for all sins. HOWEVER, understand one thing, ONCE SAVED, ALWAYS SAVED!! The Book makes that clear. Once saved, your sins are forgiven forever. That does not give us license to sin and go crazy. It simply says IF we truly believed on the FINISHED WORK OF THE CROSS BY JESUS CHRIST and repent our sins and were saved, then we are Heaven bound. Period. Sin, yes, we continue to sin. BUT, we are to try and work towards being like Christ. We will never come close to achieving it, but we must work towards it. We will fail and sometimes fail miserably, but we continue to strive to be there. I believe he was truly saved. Just because in these moments he sinned badly, that does not send him to hell. ONLY GOD KNOWS if he was truly saved. GOD will make that ultimate decision. He will make it on all of us. ONLY He and we, truly know if we truly made the decision to be saved. Repentance is only a bent knee away. If you haven’t, think about it. Time grows short in this world.
Adulterer! (Did I say/spell that right?)
