He was taken in at 7am Phoenix time and they expected a 12 hour surgery. Well we finally just heard that old organs are out and new organs are in and they had just done the first of the stitches. Katie was told this morning as they were taking him in, that they would decided after they got into the surgery but that they may also be transplanting the stomach too on top of small intestines, liver and pancreas

Prayers are with you and your family, the donors family and the doctors. You are in a good hospital with good doctors. I know you know that. Recovery will be hard but worth it. We went through two transplants with our daughter. One when she was 11 and then when she was 28. She is 36 now. Shes doing great. One of the best things to do is to find a support group where you are if you can. You will learn so much from each other and become lifelong friends. Best wishes. Sincerely.
