So my reality just changed again.
He’s going to rehab for a week or two.
An hour ago he was coming home but his case worker talked him into rehab instead.
( how long until I lose my last marble?)

it might help if you could get your hands around the throat of that “case worker”!!

He might be begging to be let out when he finds out how much work he’s gonna have to be doing.

He really needs the rehab.
It’s been killing me to jump to his constant demands for the week he was home.
He can’t get around the house at all and what he needs done is far beyond my skill set.
He needs a physical therapist every day, several times a day, not just 3 times a week.

Literally I have been running on 2 hours of sleep a day and barely eating.

He needs to get serious about his therapy and his new heart/lung issue.

If he doesn’t have someone to force him to, he’ll just slack off.

Neither of us may be happy about it but it’s reality for us both, now.

It’s the best thing for him and what should have happened in the first place.

Maybe Monday’s misery could have been avoided if he’d still have been being closely monitored.

I’ll always blame myself for that because I didn’t see it coming.

Don’t blame yourself. You couldn’t know what he wouldn’t commmunicate or that the doctors wouldn’t warn you about. But DO get some rest while you have the chance to.

I guess this is a good decision after all. I didn’t realize that he was that weak. I should have. They will insist that he do the work to get better so it’s good that he’s there. Please take care of you before you become ill, too.

If you’re low on energy try to get to a peaceful place and meditate for 15 or 20 minutes. That is good for recharging the batteries. Maybe you know that already but there are lots of resources on the web to help one do that. Continued prayers for the both of you.

It’s normal to blame ourselves..and feel like we should have seen or done something differently. It’s ALSO normal to have your support people bring you back to reality and tell you not to blame yourself. ;).

My MIL would always say, “do the best you can with what you have where you are”. You are doing that and more. Don’t waste energy second-guessing.
