The Sovereign Lord has spoken to me, and I have listened. I have not rebelled or turned away. I offered my back to those who beat me and my cheeks to those who pulled out my beard. I did not hide my face from mockery and spitting.

  Because the Sovereign Lord helps me, I will not be disgraced. Therefore, I have set my face like a stone, determined to do his will. And I know that I will not be put to shame.

  He who gives me justice is near. Who will dare to bring charges against me now? Where are my accusers? Let them appear!

See, the Sovereign Lord is on my side! Who will declare me guilty? All my enemies will be destroyed like old clothes that have been eaten by moths!

Who among you fears the Lord and obeys his servant? If you are walking in darkness, without a ray of light, trust in the Lord and rely on your God.

  But watch out, you who live in your own light and warm yourselves by your own fires. This is the reward you will receive from Me: you will soon fall down in great torment.

Dear Father God,
Maker of all that is, that was, and that will be: hear our prayer.

We rejoice in all Your provision for us, who cling to You, our God.

Our prayer is for all those who are mocked and scorned for Your sake, for the sake of upholding Your moral law in their private lives and our constitutional law in the public square.

Our prayer is for unwavering faith for those who have gained freedom and humility through Your gifts of baptism and repentance.

Our prayer is for endurance for those willing even to be savaged by ignorance, malevolence and demonic utterances for the good of others and through faith in Your Divine plan for their service to our country. In these prayers we lift up our President and his Administration, and we lift up Judge Brett Kavanaugh and his family for Your protection, Lord.

Our prayer is for strength and peace for those who wade into fire, water, chaos and mortal danger for the sake of preserving the Republic.

We lift up our first responders, our excellent military, our FEMA and volunteers in natural disasters, our schoolteachers, our healthcare workers and emergency rooms, and even our pastors who are surrounded by subversion as never before.

Bring Your cleansing flood, Your scouring tide, Your incinerating flame, Your Divine precision to these times of blatant disgrace and rebellion.

“Woe to you, blind guides, who say, ‘Whoever swears by the temple, it is nothing; but whoever swears by the gold of the temple, he is obliged to perform it.’ Fools and blind! For which is greater, the gold or the temple that sanctifies the gold? And, ‘Whoever swears by the altar, it is nothing; but whoever swears by the gift that is on it, he is obliged to perform it.’ Fools and blind! For which is greater, the gift or the altar that sanctifies the gift? Therefore he who swears by the altar, swears by it and by all things on it. Father, we pray today especially for the Senators who will vote for our judges and Justices, for our Congresspersons and all who hold public office who swear by the Constitution, yet deny its intention to transcend mere politics, its value in timeless virtue, and its origin in faith in Your Providence. May those who swear by it, swear by all things in it, and by the throne of You Who breathed life into our Founding.
