As most of you know, I moved back to MA from FL back in 2015 to take care of Mom, who subsequently passed away. Now I live in a small mobile home community on the South Shore, and in the year I have been here, have come to know my neighbors.
Our community has had no shortage of tragedy, but recently there have been two that really stand out.
My next door neighbor, Melanie, has been diagnosed with lung cancer, and for the past couple of months has been enduring the most brutal course of chemo and radiation therapy I have ever seen. When I asked FReepers to pray for her, the response was wonderful. I am asking now that you continue in prayer for her and her loved ones.
Just this morning I found out that another neighbor, Mary, is in the hospital with "swelling of the brain" and pneumonia. She will be undergoing surgery and a trip to a rehab facility. She is a single mom with three boys, two of which are developmentally disabled. Family and friends are struggling to keep her home in order while she is in the hospital.
I have only been here a year, but I really care about these folks, all of whom have been very kind to me.
I promised Mary's son that I would bring this to our group of praying FReepers.
Lord God, Jesus Christ, hear our prayers for Thy servants Melanie and Mary and grant them healing.
In the name of the Father and for the Son, and for the Holy Spirit, amen.
Prayers for Mary and Melanie’s total healing, and for God’s peace and provision for their families, in Jesus’ Name.
Prayers.
Will do. This has been a very bad year for lots of people and we need to remember them all in our prayers. Is it age or is there just a lot more sickness than in the past? It sure seems that way.
You take care of you also!
My best of prayers to the good Lord for them both. And for you for being a good neigbor.
Thank you so much for your prayers and kind words.

"Be still, and know that I am God;
Psalm 46:10
And their prayer offered in faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will make them well. And anyone who has committed sins will be forgiven. Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and wonderful results.
James 5:15-16
Hearing this, Jesus said to Jairus, "Don't be afraid; just believe, and she will be healed."
Luke 8:5
20 "My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, 21 that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. 22 I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are oneâ 23 I in them and you in meâso that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.
24 "Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world.
25 "Righteous Father, though the world does not know you, I know you, and they know that you have sent me. 26 I have made you[e] known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them.â
John 17:20-26
Heavenly Father, We all come before you with a solemn heart and in need of Your intercession for Melanie/Mary. We pray that the diseases that has come into these dear women's lives soon fades into a quick remission.
Comfort them upon their sickbed, and ease their suffering. We beg for deliverance, and submit that no healing is too hard for the Lord. We therefore pray that You bless their dear families with peace, comfort and understanding in Your loving name.We believe in Your loving capacity for miracles, and ask for this on these families behalf.
Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord, grant Melanie/Mary the courageous, humble acceptance of the surgery which awaits them, and let this be the relief and cure which their families and FRiends seek. I pray you, Lord, that these procedures be without complications and that their respective recoveries will be speedy and complete.
Heavenly Father, You know every fiber of our being and have willed that we were born. I beseech You, Lord, to guide the minds and hands of those who will operate on Melanie/Mary so that they may be restored to health and well-being.
Help us, Lord, to pray with all my heart and allow our burden of concern and anxiety and that of Melanie and Mary's respective families to be lifted up with the knowledge that You are with them now and always. And Lord, when they awakes from surgery, take them and their families by your loving hand and guide them towards a life of thanksgiving and peace. As we grow older, I know we become closer to the day you accept us back into your kingdom. We ask that you delay that holy union if it be your will. In your name we pray,
Lord, Your scripture set forth that You heal all diseases and whoever believes in You will not perish but have an everlasting life. Strengthen these women, their respective families Lord, in this time of their illness. Sustain them as Melanie/Mary are sick in their beds. When You were on Earth, you did all things good and healed all kinds of sickness.
Lord of all Melanie, Mary are suffering, their families are suffering, we ask to do what is right, good and best for all of them. As it fits your plan, heal them and mend their bodies and lovingly grant them days of better health and strength. As their respective families waits your grace and blessing please grant the families an extra measure of patience, endurance and perseverance. Lord we know You are able to heal. Grant these women, their families the wisdom to understand Your timing.
Let it be done in Your glory, Lord.
We praise and glorify Your name,
Amen.
Prayers up.
