Obviously we disagree on this. Have a nice day. Id wish you Merry Christmas, but it would just piss you off. Have a nice day as well. Merry Christmas doesn't piss me off at all. If it did I'd always be pissed off at this time of year. Take care.
To: DouglasKC
I'd get into a discussion with you but since you are so righteous, sanctimonious, omniscient, and have a direct line to God, I'll just say...
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Please have your employer forward your Christmas bonus directly to me. That way you won’t be stained by the devil’s filthy lucre.

Christmas just seems to bring out the best in us (as seen in this discussion). But I';m leaning more towards Festivus. Yes, it's another man made holiday as well but I like it's simplicity. And by donating to The Human Fund we can appease our philandering philanthropist side of us as well.
To: BipolarBob
Festivus? Yes. But first. The Airing of Grievances!
To: Responsibility2nd
Exactly! That captures the spirit of it nicely.
To: DouglasKC
I am part of the 8% who doesn't observe Christmas at all. Now the primary reason why I don't observe it is that I KNOW and BELIEVE that the Lord God has given us HIS days to observe and that these days have purpose and meaning. They ARE holy days. Days that are set apart for God's purpose. These days are listed in God's holy word in Leviticus chapter 23.I missed the part where God said DON'T celebrate Him on any other days.
What the myths of Christmas? Santa Claus. Flying reindeer. Elves.
Rejecting these myths in no way implies rejecting a celebration of the birth of Christ.
Jesus born on December 25th.
I don't know anyone who doesn't know that the actual date is unknown.

I see you are using a computer—and electricity.
Absolutely NOWHERE in GOD’S HOLY WORD does it say we may use computers or electricity! Why do you disregard GOD’S HOLY WORD?!?!

To: BipolarBob
Six days you shall labor and do all your workI've labored every Christmas that I can remember = though never for a paycheck.
Certainly the Lord is against leaving needed work undone ... but do you really think He proscribed getting your week's work done in five days?

God sent his son among us to save us and we should not celebrate his having done so?
He did not send him to condemn the world, he sent him to save the world.
If you seek only condemnation, you will get it.

God sent his son among us to save us and we should not celebrate his having done so? Yes we should. In the way He has shown. Not some man made celebration.
To: BipolarBob
So you ARE saying that when the Lord said "Six days you shall labor and do all your work" He meant and-not-a-day-less - that is, that He did proscribe getting your week's work done in five days?

Christmas has brought many to Christ.
Is this not a proscribed command from Jesus himself?
Matt 28:19-20
Jesus is the narrow gate, he does not tell us to make it narrower.
This thread will just become a viper pit.
I’m out.

Not only can he say it, he can recognize it in the Scripture-doesn't-say-to-celebrate-Christmas-so-we-mustn't argument.
