During this week where Americans have been distracted by the unexpected upset of a presidential election that could very well change the course of our collective future, Pope Francis has been busy making political statements of his own.
In yet another interview with Eugenio Scalfari (see our standard rebuttal to you cant trust Scalfari! here), this exchange was reported to have taken place:
"You told me some time ago that the precept, Love your neighbour as thyself had to change, given the dark times that we are going through, and become more than thyself. So you yearn for a society where equality dominates. This, as you know, is the programme of Marxist socialism and then of communism. Are you therefore thinking of a Marxist type of society?
It it has been said many times and my response has always been that, if anything, it is the communists who think like Christians. Christ spoke of a society where the poor, the weak and the marginalized have the right to decide. Not demagogues, not Barabbas, but the people, the poor, whether they have faith in a transcendent God or not. It is they who must help to achieve equality and freedom. [emphasis added]
One of the most hotly contested criticism of Pope Francis is that he is ideologically aligned with Marxists. Weve covered some of the connections before, so I wont rehash them here. What seems fair to say is that this is the most direct admission yet that Francis identifies his program of social justice as something compatible with Communism itself an intrinsic evil.
Of course, this seems all of a piece. On the eve of the US Presidential election which featured the most pro-abortion candidate for the presidency in this nations history-......

This pope is a manifold heretic.
He speaks sympathy for genocidal maniacs such as Lenin, Stalin, Mao and their ilk.
Sick man.
"Lifting the (priestly) vow of chastity." The celibacy of priests in the Western Rite has proven to be a great source of strength. We do not have our priests hauled into divorce courts such as are eagerly made available since Christendom (look it up) died. We have certainly had scandals of other sorts perpetrated by perverted homosexual pedophiles who were protected and ordained by the likes of the late Joseph Cardinal Bernardin. Perhaps the solution to THAT problem is defrocking the offender, castrating him, turning him over to secular authority and putting him in a supermax for life.
"Allowing women to become priest" is no more possible than allowing any other contradiction in terms. Pope St. John Paul II definitively ruled that the Church totally lacks any authority whatsoever to ordain "women priests."
You would do well to remember that we are discussing the Roman Catholic Church not some silly impious work of fiction by Morris West. The Church has absolutely no responsibility to conform itself to the sorry fallen world in which we live. You may accept or reject her teachings. We draft no one. The consequences of your decisions are yours because of God's gift to each of us of free will.
Let’s pray for our RCatholic brethren.
Figures...1of 2. You’re 2, btw. At least that’s how I see it. The Holy Spirit, well, who is counting.
When I first became Catholic I read a book about the Soviets infiltrating the priesthood to undermine the church and just recently “A Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing” on EWTN claimed that the Alinskyites put 1300 priests into the Church. It surely makes a person wonder about things.
I’ve got NO problem with that! :)
The “Pope’s” observation is utterly childish; the sort of thing one expects from an adolescent. If communists were concerned about their brothers welfare they’d be to busy caring and comforting them THEMSELVES to be out in the streets rioting and killing anyone who does not care to be “freed” by them. Concern for others is a POSE communists strike to take power and cut off any other from power. The “Pope” is sophisticated enough to know this. He is a treacherous liar attempting to steal our freedom. I have been a Catholic all of my life. This is no pope. I have lost trust in this man. this poser.
ANAXIOS!
I thought Catholic schools had a better level of teaching than that...
Because "...give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar, and give to God what belongs to God" but Francine wants to give all of it to Karl.
AA-25?
oops...AA-1025?
That they don’t drag him out is a sign of this nincompope’s nearly complete compromise of the Church’s faithful.
That is two contradictory statements. IF they are "guided by" then that means they listened.
There have been many on this forum claim the Church is inerrant. Protestants claim Scripture is inerrant. Catholics claim their denomination is inerrant. That is why there is a schism between the two.
I think so.
Not necessarily. I can be guided by the Holy Spirit and choose not to follow Him. Every single elector has free will.
In the One True Church all follow Him. But it is not a denomination but the collection of His elect which choose to follow Him even to death. He knows who they are.
Eh, I’m not turning this into a Catholic vs Protestant debate. I explained what happens at a papal election so you would better understand my post.
