Doesn't everyone find it refreshing when somebody rewrites the Bible?

So, if God didn’t destroy Sodom and Gomorrah, who did?
Aliens?
Breaking News:
“...just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding cities, which likewise indulged in sexual immorality and pursued unnatural desire, serve as an example by undergoing a punishment of eternal fire.”
Jude 1:7
“At World Youth Day, Popes leading Italian bishop suggests Sodom wasnt destroyed”
True. It simply relocated to a place along the Via Gregorio VII in Rome.
The Roman Catholic Leadership is only defending Sodomy because they continue to cause this abomination in their priestly ranks by not allowing priestly marriage. They could easily repeal the unnatural regulations against priestly marriage. For crying out loud...Peter, their first Pope, was Married!
Gen_19:24-25 Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven; And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground.
Deu_29:23 And that the whole land thereof is brimstone, and salt, and burning, that it is not sown, nor beareth, nor any grass groweth therein, like the overthrow of Sodom, and Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboim, which the LORD overthrew in his anger, and in his wrath:
I’ve often had the feeling that many of my Catholic and Episcopalian friends and relatives were not particularly familiar with the Old Testament. This could be another example of that.
I'm familiar with the position that it's all made up stories, but not that it really all happened except for the last bit.
Sodom is not gone, it just relocated to San Francisco.
I think the Bishop is mixing up Sodom and Nineveh. Sodom died unsaved despite having Abraham bargain for it and Angels visiting it because they refused to repent.
Nineveh was saved because despite being the recipient of the shortest, most begrudging, unhelpful sermon on record they repented.
Catholics (and Orthodox) don't believe the events described in the stories in Genesis actually happened. Of course they don't believe Sodom was destroyed. They probably don't believe it ever existed in the first place.
It was shrunk and is now kept in a bottle in the Vatican.
apparently not , based on the behavior of some priests and the bishops covering up for such a long time
