Wednesday on Bloomberg TVs With All Due Respect, host Mark Halperin and John Heilemann asked Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump what his favorite Bible verse is.
Trump has said many times on the campaign trail the Bible is his favorite book.
Heilemann asked, You mentioned the Bible and talked about how it was your favorite book and you said, I think last night on in Iowa, some people are surprised you say that. I am wondering what one or two of your most favorite Bible verses are and why?
Trump answered, I wouldnt want to get into it because to me thats very personal. You know when I talk about the Bible its very personal.I dont want to get into it.
Heilemann asked, There no verse that means a lot to you that you think about about or cite?

It's stupid that anyone would have a problem with this response.
It’s sad that you are such an idolater you will support anything he says/does. You think he is perfect and infallible?
You must have missed Trump on MSNBC a little while ago. They asked him about it and he said just to put the whole thing to bed for nickcarraway I’ll tell. :-)
“There’s a passage I got memorized. Ezekiel 25:17.”
“The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness, for he is truly his brother’s keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy My brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay My vengeance upon you.”
I know Trump’s favorite bible passage. It’s Revelation Chapter 2: 6. Maybe a few on FR too. ;-)
Oops, correction for above.
“Maybe a few [of the] FReepers’ too. ;-)”
He said the Bible is his favorite book, so that means all of them right? /s
It does matter, because his answer clearly displays he has not read or studied the Bible. Any one who has done any Bible study can name multiple verses. And any one who studies the Bible has a verse that has touched them and made a significant impact in their life.
Good answer. They wanted to set up Trump by making him quote bible verses. Homie don’t play that.
Agree.
No it doesn’t matter....’Discernment’ is much needed regarding Trump NOT being critical about what he obviously doesn’t know.....He’s a man on his way to meeting His Savior and I would suggest people give him the same room God gave them along the way.
What we do for others we should do for Trump...Pray for Him...just as we have for others who need Christ.
Father God,
We ask You to protect Don Trump and his family. Surround him with wise Christian counsel.
May the Holy Spirit draw Donald Trump close to You.
May Jesus Christ be Lord and Savior of his life.
In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
Amen...and thank you for praying for the man...HE will surely need it.
Politicizing the Bible. Its not for me either. Trump did the right thing.
Bingo. Again, I'm surprised how many freepers can't see through this. Trump's whole "conservative Christian" persona is an act. Even reality TV star "Christian conservative" Josh Duggar would easily be able to quote a bible passage.
Are you a protestant? You should do something about your phony televangelist preachers before you complain about nickcarraway.
Matthew 7:3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brothers eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
LOL
Exactly. No matter what he said, they've have turned it on him. First one I thought of was
Matthew 5:30 - And if your right hand causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell.
It's time for some house cleaning from DC down to illegals.
Yeah, I don’t believe him either. I’m reminded of his mentioning of stockpiling Bibles people send him, it just rung false
Personally I don’t give a damn whether he likes/knows the Bible or not, but fibbing about it as part of his carnival act is shameful, if indeed he is.
I haven’t read the vast majority of it, but I even picked a favorite passage because it amuses me. Deuteronomy 23:1, that means no soup for you, Bruce Jenner.
