Filmmaker, evangelist and renowned bible prophecy teacher Joel Richardson says it is a time of change for the church, especially when it comes to teachings about the End Times and the rapture. The author of the New York Times bestseller The Islamic Antichrist recently appeared with Joe Schimmel on Rick Wiless TruNews radio program to discuss the what he believes is the false doctrine of a pre-tribulation rapture.
Wiles himself supports the post-tribulation position, stating, I personally do not believe that by the year 2020, any credible person will be teaching the secret pre-trib rapture doctrine. I think the events that are coming in the next five years will utterly destroy the doctrine.
The pre-tribulation school of thought has been an important force in American Christianity for decades, with proponents such as Hal Lindsey, Tim LaHaye and Thomas Ice. This school holds believers will be raptured before the great tribulation during the End Times, thus avoiding it. In contrast, Richardson believes the rapture will not occur until during the tribulation period. Thus, believing Christians will not be spared the persecution and calamities of the End Times.
Richardson is featured on a DVD exploring the issue entitled Left Behind or Led Astray? During the film, Richardson explains what he sees as the crucial importance of the issue.
Its one of the premiere pastoral issues of our day. If youre a pastor thats not preparing your people to face potentially the Antichrist and the Great Tribulation, in this hour, simply because your denomination teaches it or whatever, personally I think youre failing in your role as a shepherd and a pastor.

>> “This is not the millennium, and it certainly is not heaven.” <<
.
No kidding!
And the New Testament makes it plain that all of Yeshua’s elect will receive their incorruptible bodies at the end pf the trib, and before the millennial reign.

>> “How do we know that we’re not in the tribulation period now?” <<
.
Because the man of sin has not revealed himself standing on the mercy seat of the ark, and declaring himself to be God.

Many thanks for this post and also your #18!
Mid 1960’s Presbyterian and mid 1970’s Lutheran never taught pre- mid- or post-trib rapture; in fact, they never taught it at all.... just the concept of history goes on, and then at some point, there is a Judgment Day.
Well if they want to be literal, David danced naked before the Ark and the band was playing. So .....
Thanks for the link. I find that a humorous mischaracterization of the position.
And CI Scofield pushed it as well ....
I believe the rapture is mid-trib. Wish it were pre-trib..

>> “We assume the rapture occurs out of the blue when all is good.” <<

But the Bible says that it happens at the end of Satan’s Tribulation, at the last trump. (1corinthians 15)

J.A.T. Robinson’s Re-Dating the New Testament is -very- informative and heavily sourced.
Basically shows all the books of the N.T. were written before 70 AD.
Points out that none of those books mention the fall of Jerusalem as having already occurred.
Such a calamitous event would have been mentioned... but it wasn’t.
There is no mid trib.
The first resurrection is what ends Satan’s tribulation of the saints. That is how “Those days” are shortened.

Above post has a link to a book on when the books of the N. T. were written.
Nonsense!
One cannot dismiss the testimony of Polycarp.
But it is nonsense because it denies the word of God, mostly.
You are a False Prophet.
While I’m a pre-trib’er for the already stated reasons does it really matter? I personally put all my faith in Jesus Christ, so I don’t really care. He will call us home when it’s time not before and not afterwards. We need to concentrate our efforts on those who are lost through man made dogmas, false doctrines, and selfish pride.

True. Many Americans’ entire world is what is happening in America. The tribulation has started and many severed heads of Christians in the middle east show that.
Obama in his Islamic faith, has done and is doing, his best to see Christians beheaded here so Christians will deny their Christianity and choose Islam in order to survive so his dream of an Islamic State United States will come true.
When the world is at war, perhaps he will go to Iran and look down the well hoping the 12th Imam will come out and embrace him. Iran's Supreme Leader and the Mullahs believe if Iran creates world havoc, the Imam will come out of the well. The best way to create major destruction is to drop nuclear bombs on Israel and America and the Imam will surely come out of the well.
Where is this place in the desert, found in scripture, you mention that Christians are to be protected in?
Might want to reread the Bible.
Cause you're way off the mark.
