Filmmaker, evangelist and renowned bible prophecy teacher Joel Richardson says it is a time of change for the church, especially when it comes to teachings about the End Times and the rapture. The author of the New York Times bestseller The Islamic Antichrist recently appeared with Joe Schimmel on Rick Wiless TruNews radio program to discuss the what he believes is the false doctrine of a pre-tribulation rapture.
Wiles himself supports the post-tribulation position, stating, I personally do not believe that by the year 2020, any credible person will be teaching the secret pre-trib rapture doctrine. I think the events that are coming in the next five years will utterly destroy the doctrine.
The pre-tribulation school of thought has been an important force in American Christianity for decades, with proponents such as Hal Lindsey, Tim LaHaye and Thomas Ice. This school holds believers will be raptured before the great tribulation during the End Times, thus avoiding it. In contrast, Richardson believes the rapture will not occur until during the tribulation period. Thus, believing Christians will not be spared the persecution and calamities of the End Times.
Richardson is featured on a DVD exploring the issue entitled Left Behind or Led Astray? During the film, Richardson explains what he sees as the crucial importance of the issue.
Its one of the premiere pastoral issues of our day. If youre a pastor thats not preparing your people to face potentially the Antichrist and the Great Tribulation, in this hour, simply because your denomination teaches it or whatever, personally I think youre failing in your role as a shepherd and a pastor.

Well said.
Sorry - The tribulation happened over 2,000 years ago, with the fall of Jerusalem. Read Daniel - carefully. There really is no room for these false teachings.
That’s the reasoning behind religion being the opiate of the masses, and it’s not just evangelicals. People will put up with a lot of privation and abuse if they think this life is inferior to what is supposed to be coming.
The tribulation (mainly the 7 bowls or vials) is God’s wrath on mankind. Why would God appoint his Church to wrath? Noah was spared Gods wrath, as was Lot, Moses and the Israelis in Egypt etc. This is the reason why the pre-trib rapture theory has merit.
pre-trib here
Interesting because I haven't met a Christian yet that thinks like you guess they do.
Most of us are MORE motivated to share Christ with others because otherwise, they have to go through the Tribulation and nobody wants to see the people they love do that.
I always find it interesting when people try to guess the motives for others doing something. It shows what THEY'D do in the same situation because they think others are like them.
It's called *projection* and is very enlightening.
Got some questions for you if you believe in dispensationalism:

The “pre-trib rapture” is absolute foolishness.
Paul wrote the second letter to the Thessalonians to assure them that a “rapture” had not happened, because it could not happen until the man of sin is revealed, and Satan’s tribulation of the saints is ended by Yeshua’s return to gather his elect to the wedding feast.
Yet the pre-tribbers even struggle to find it in the very letter that totally denies it.

No that is not the reason some do not take action. Some wrongly use theology to tell themselves that mankind cannot be good and therefore why try. My opinion on that is that basic civilized, moral, decent behavior is in the realm of common grace. God gives all mankind a mind, a conscience, an ability to make judgments. Mankind will never be perfect but by God’s grace mankind is capable of being civilized and showing general good judgment. We all have a duty to work toward that. What gets one into heaven is another matter.
As for the end times, things will get very bad even before the rapture. But how many times in history have people thought “this is it”? We cannot know if perhaps God will grant us more grace and more time. We are to watch for the signs and yet no man will know the hour or the day. Our responsibility is to do the best we can. The timing is God’s.

>> “I think rapture myths are being used to control gullible well meaning christians to not taking action” <<
.
Almost!
They are being used by Satan to prevent believers from doing what Yeshua asked them to do in order to be protected in the place he will prepare for that purpose in the desert.

Additionally, God sparing Christians from his wrath is not necessarily the same as no suffering. That's an important difference.
Anyway, the point I'm making is that Christians around the world are being matyred, being oppressed/suppressed/repressed, seeing their loved ones torn apart, raped and sold, and being imprisoned. In God's eyes those Christians are equal to you as God is not a respect or of persons, yet they get torn apart but in the West people will just disappear?
My point is that even if that is the case, and people are having a Sunday picnic before they just pop away, that it may be a wise thing to look and see what's happening around the world and ask oneself what if that was happening to me? Also, I am reminded of what happened to Christ's disciples ....I believe all but one died very gruesome deaths. It doesn't mean every Christian will go in the same way ....most will not ...but that it CAN happen.
I know our denomination believes the pre-trin rapture, but our family has believed that the Christians will be here until the 6th seal at the least. Probably before the 7th seal. We have held to that view for about 3 decades. If you place Matthew 24 alongside Revelation chapters dealing with the 7 seals and other OT passages, you see it clearly.

No!
The tribulation is Satan’s wrath.
God’s wrath is the bowl judgements that come after Yeshua and his angels have resurrected the elect at the end of the trib.
we will have tribulations and persecution and there will be rapture of the church all over the world for the body of CHRIST these scriptures might help,1 THESSALONIA 4;17, AND 1 THESS,4;16 and 1 Corinthians 15;51-53..

Interesting observation in post #18
Not possible. The events of Matthew 24 did not take place at that time, & Jesus did not return. This is not the millennium, and it certainly is not heaven.
excellent points
Yours are the falsest teachings of all!
John was not given the Revelation until 23 years after the sacking of Jerusalem. That is by the testimony of John’s chief disciple, Polycarp.
