An Episcopal priest shocked his Queens congregation recently when he left his wife and married someone else a much younger man.
The Rev. Juan Andres Quevedo-Bosch, 59, the archdeacon of Queens and rector of the Church of the Redeemer in Astoria, announced over Facebook last week that he got married in a Los Angeles church.
The Cuban-born prelate was pictured on a beach with the caption: Im in Miami Beach with my new husband. God is good.
One churchgoer said many parishioners severed ties to the church after Quevedo-Bosch came out as gay at the pulpit a month ago.
Most of the people arent coming anymore, the elderly woman said. Because hes homosexual, people have stopped coming.
But she said Quevedo-Bosch also has supporters among his flock at the church, which holds Spanish-language services for a largely Hispanic congregation.

“Episcopal”, says it all.
I think that first line pretty much sums up the thinking of ANY Christian who remains in the Episcopal Church.
It’s only shocking that Episcopals are shocked.
Rector?
Never even touched her.
Freegards
What a drag ..
The church of Gene Robinson and Kathryn Jefferts Schori, and people are shocked? Come off it.
Remember “let’s not be harsh” or “bashy”...
so I will only relate:
Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men

did he get divorced first? or does that matter any more?

Rectum? Damn-near killed ‘im!
The younger man aspect isn’t much of a shock. It’s the ideal. The victim in the link discusses how they tried to get their sexual ideals imprinted on her.
It’s an interesting look into the mindset of some folks and how they view sexual relationships.
When I was younger, I went to an Episcopal church (only because my dad’s girlfriend went there). The priest lived in the house across the street...with his mother. After we left that church, it was several years later that I found out that the priest moved to San Francisco....and contracted AIDS and died.
Had no idea he swung that way. He was a nice guy, no later accusations that he’d buggered little boys or anything like that.
Atheism is on the rise while religion is on the wane. Who would have guessed that would happen here in America? Well, maybe some of that has been foretold. Oh well, carry on...while you can.
Put liberals in charge of an institution and corruption of every value it professes to hold dear will follow. Yet another example.
Headed for the purple for sure.
>> the elderly woman said. Because hes homosexual, people have stopped coming.
Profound wisdom...
>> Atheism is on the rise while religion is on the wane.
Atheism is the fleeting fantasy of idiots.
I get it - sort of.
Tough to wrap my mind around this stuff - hard to fathom how a human can do this to another human.
