After five members of our military were killed in cold bloodand two others woundedon our own soil in an act of domestic terrorism in Chattanooga, evangelist Franklin Graham dared to say what many in America were thinking:
"We are under attack by Muslims at home and abroad. We should stop all immigration of Muslims to the U.S. until this threat with Islam has been settled. Every Muslim who comes into this country has the potential to be radicalizedand they do their killing to honor their religion and Muhammad," Graham said.
"During World War II, we didn't allow Japanese to immigrate to America, nor did we allow Germans. Why are we allowing Muslims now? Do you agree? Let your Congressman know that we've got to put a stop to this and close the floodgates. Pray for the men and women who serve this nation in uniform, that God would protect them."
The elder Graham stayed out of politics, but the once-prodigal son is known for his bold commentary. Some of his fellow evangelicals are up in arms over these comments from Billy Graham's son.
"Harsh" and "unhelpful" were the words Carl Medearis, an international expert in Arab-American and Muslim-Christian relations, used to describe Graham's words.
Meanwhile, Helen Lee, associate editor at InterVarsity Press, had one question for him: "This is Christian witness?" Lee's colleague, vice president and director of Campus Engagement for InterVarsity USA Greg Jao, said he "strongly" rejects Graham's idea.
And Brian Zahnd, an author and pastor of Word Life Church, said Graham's remarks were nothing short of "xenophobia." Even Chick-fil-A's general manager for leadership development, Tim Sweetman, came against Graham, saying his remarks were "despicable" and the opposite of Christian love and American freedom.
"Franklin Graham said really awful things about Muslims," Lynne Hybels, of Willow Creek Community Church, tweeted. "If he knew the Muslim men and women I know, he would never say such things."
Yet, many Americans are likely to agree with Graham. Americans view Islam as a threat to their own nation's religious liberty almost as strongly as they consider it a danger to religious freedom internationally, new research shows.
Although most persecution occurs overseas, 39 percent of American adults say Islam threatens religious freedom in the United Statesalmost as many as the 40 percent who see Islam as a global threat, a survey by Nashville-based LifeWay Research finds.
"Most recent headlines regarding Islam don't paint a picture of religious freedomso we should not be surprised by the strong minority that considers Islam a threat to religious freedom," said Ed Stetzer, executive director of LifeWay Research.
Okay who are these “Evangelicals” that are being quoted here.. I have serious doubts that these people are anything but dhimmi’s
So called “Evangelicals” (what are those things has anyone said yet) mormans, moslems all disagree with Franklin Graham’s “views” on islam...
but Christians agree with him...
Islam devote4es are enemies of Jews and Christians, enemies of the God of the Bible...
Moslems want to kill Jews and Christians because their koran tells them too...
LOL
No credibility in my book.
Franklin Graham said what needed to be said.
Good on him.
Graham also said the ‘draw Mohamed event’ went too far in his opinion. I thought he had a point, but this was definitely not popular with many actually conservative evangelicals if the FR threads were any indication.
It’s almost like he tries to be a Christian the best he knows how, and doesn’t really care what anyone thinks about it. Which is pretty impressive in my opinion.
Freegards
Those *leaders* obviously don’t speak for grassroots America.
I have Evangelical friends who would make great FReepers and think like us.
They’re out there, even if we don’t hear from them.

Nuff said.
Haven’t found anything on WordLife church yet .... will keep looking to find out where they are at, liberal or what.
It is what our sorry assed representatives should be demanding, they are the problem.
I stand with Franklin Graham
In answer to your question, “No”.
The question is however, IF we are to follow the Great Commission (that is a comission NOT a suggestion), how are we to reach moslems, when Christian evangelists are rarely allowed into such countries? We cannot bring the Good News to them, but we CAN bring it to moslem immigrants from those countries who, once saved, are more likely to return to spread the Gospel, often covertly. NOTE: I am NOT advocating open borders but rather, proper, TIGHT screening of immigrant applicants. The financial support of Hamas and the name change to Abdulazeez by the family, the trip to Jordan, the attempt to work at a nuke plant and the radical comments on social media, all should have been signs to the authorities. The first two items should have triggered deportation of the whole family years ago.
Given that O’Venal is such a moslem supporter, we know he won’t suspend moslem immigration, so suggesting such a thing, knowing it won’t happen, merely turns off sources of HUMINT that might otherwise be open to us. In addition, moslem countries like Egypt and Jordan, that do somewhat defend Christians, might completely remove such protection for Christians.
I would suggest that patriots within DHS, the military and intelligence, could and should start ensuring that only the lowest risk individuals be allowed in and that surveillance be upped on those in the country that are of higher risk. Such patriots should also be ensuring that the traitorous activities of VJ, BHO, JFK, JAB, et al, are recorded and forwarded to TRUSTWORTHY politicians (if there be such a thing, any more). The NSA has the ability to track and record everything on the internet, cell phones and telephones. Why aren’t they surveiling risky citizens and aliens?
Suspending immigration based on religion, is more likely to hurt, rather than help the West. PROPER intelligence, surveillance and covert action against foreign websites and targets , seems more prudent, IMO. Unlike Israel, our existence is not threatened by allowing limited moslem immigration, though I prefer to see Christian immigration. LIKE Israel, prudent use of intelligence and covert actions, has kept Israel relatively save and allowed a democracy to thrive, against the odds.

Don’t sweat the wagging of tongues, Mr. Graham.
Those folks are of the Olsteen Laodicean branch.
Never heard of any of them. Trolling for losers, I suppose.
Because, I suspect, they are hirelings, and not true ministers of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Just ask Rick Warren and Smilin’ Joel Osteen their views on Islam and Muslims.
I bet those wolves won’t dare say a peep about it in a negative light.
Hybels and the whole Willow Creek Bunch are a disgrace.
Beware. Go on the Willow Creek Church Association and then onto “find a church”
You won’t believe who are members of the association.
To Franklin Graham I say AMEN.
I see no reason to allow Muslims to immigrate except for a small handful of people who have helped America in the past and therefor face persecution - such as translators who helped the military.
No one has a right to come to America. We need to be much choosier, and that includes religious beliefs. Heck, a moratorium on legal immigration would work for me...say, for 10 years.

Quran Al Fatah 48
Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah ; and those with him are forceful against the disbelievers, merciful among themselves. You see them bowing and prostrating [in prayer], seeking bounty from Allah and [His] pleasure. Their mark is on their faces from the trace of prostration. That is their description in the Torah. And their description in the Gospel is as a plant which produces its offshoots and strengthens them so they grow firm and stand upon their stalks, delighting the sowers - so that Allah may enrage by them the disbelievers. Allah has promised those who believe and do righteous deeds among them forgiveness and a great reward.
You get marked in the forehead by bowing to Mecca
There's lot's more...
