"I feel like saying something that may sound controversial or even heretical. But there is someone who knows that despite our differences we are one. It is he who is persecuting us. It is he that is persecuting Christians today; he who is anointing us with the blood of martyrdom, knows that Christians are disciples of Christ. That we are one, that we are brothers! He doesn't care if they are Evangelicals, Orthodox, Lutherans, Catholics or Apostolic. He doesn't care! They are Christians."
Just another misreading of scripture .That is the final judgement of rewards... not a judgement of salvation ... the sheep were already sheep and the goats were already goats..
Absolutely, look at the difficulty that James White went through when his sister (Patty Bonds)and her husband and Children converted to Catholicism.
Their father had been a Baptist minister (Who sexually abused Patty for 10 years) and James White was an associate pastor and noted Protestant apologist.
LInk to here conversion/ testimony: Patty Bonds
She makes it abundantly clear that we are correct saying the prots have always been fighting a strawman.
So none of you can make that claim to be saved then. Got it.
So now your saying Paul and Silas were Protestants?
Great job of proof texting. You ALL need to read the entire Gospel in context rather than setting up proof text strawmen.
Obviously you concur with the practice by posting your list.
Not at all I was pointing out the hypocrisy practiced by the prots on this list. a hypocrisy confirmed by the flagrant refusal to declare them saved or unsaved. BTW saying that I concur makes you guilty of mind reading, but I won't run to the mod since I want your comments to stand.
Okay another one that refuses to take a stand. Thank you for also confirming hypocrisy. All of you are making it clear that none of you should be believed when you ALL tell us that you ALL are saved.
Who the heck is "he-who-shall-not-be-named"?
Actually I think a better definition is not being willing to take a stand one way or the other and gong off on tangents.
....”Pope Francis didn’t just say that ‘the devil thinks’ that all Christians are one, but that ‘the devil knows’ we are all one....This suggests that the Pope himself considers this one-ness of all Christians to be true as well.”.....
Why would any Christian listen to a Pope or any man who makes his case based on what satan thinks or knows...
In the Protestant and Evangelical communities when these men are discovered they are judged and loose their ministry...though some may attempt to retain it, the ministry will fail and so do the men thereafter. They are outed. They will not find protection even though forgiven.
Yes, He did.
It is beneath you to also fast?
Why would you think to ask that? How sure are you of your salvation?
My salvation is sure, guaranteed by God who sealed the transaction with the Holy Spirit He put in me..
I don't know why you put salvation in quotes. What was the purpose of that? What do you mean by that?
What do you mean when you say someone is saved, or when you talk about salvation?
However, in answer to your question, I am saved. My sin IS forgiven now. I am seated with Christ in the heavenly places now. I am going to heaven when I die.
Take a look at the RM’s posting guidelines under the heading of “Guidelines concerning Hatred on the Religion Forum.”
There you will find the answer to your question.

Absolute nonsense...Jesus condemns your religion all thru-out the bible...We have posted some of those condemnations many times...
You have to go thru a Catholic priest to get to Jesus in your Eucharist...You have to go thru a Catholic priest to confess to Jesus and get forgiven...So you can be assigned penance...
Mar 15:38 And the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom.
Right there is where all priesthoods vanished...They were put out of a job...
You can't just say "Jesus I accept you and now I'm saved" and then proceed to live whatever lifestyle that you prefer.....it can't possibly work that way....
You don't have a clue what you are talking about...
It happened to me and millions of others...
The day I got saved I went to the bar and ultimately got drunked up (which was not uncommon)...I continued to frequent the bars since that was where I was comfortable and my friends were there...Soon, things began to look differently to me...
I lost the desire for alcohol so I started drinking coco-cola...Staying sober...Wasn't long, I'd be sitting at the bar next to someone drinking and the conversation would turn to Jesus...Every time...God was working on me...
I ultimately quit going to bars and started studying the scriptures...And they finally started to make sense to me...
There's a whole world of difference between faith in a religion and a personal relationship with the Lord, Jesus Christ...
Presumption is a sin.
It's not presumption anyway. It's fact.
Ephesians 2:4-10 But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christby grace you have been savedand raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus , so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
Being seated with Christ in the heavenly places is part of the redemption that believers now have and operate in now. It's a present reality, happening now in the spiritual realm in which we operate.
Do Catholics really think it's presumptuous to have confidence in God and His word when we simply believe what He told us?
I don't know about you, but we call it *faith*.
Hebrews 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
Perhaps you don't mind telling others that God didn't or doesn't really mean what He promised us in Scripture, but count me out. I'm not going there.
That's not what I said. I said we can't judge whether SOMEONE ELSE is saved or not. We don't know what the relationship of anyone other than ourselves is with Christ. We can observe who an individual focuses on and if it's anyone other than Christ it's doubtful because Christ said NO ONE comes before Him and God said He would give His glory to non other.
>>BTW saying that I concur makes you guilty of mind reading<<
I said "obviously" by observation. I can give my impression by my observation all day long.
Going back to the original quote, all he said was that the Enemy (Satan, and probably particularly the fiends of ISIS) persecute Christians even-handedly without making distinctions between Catholics, Orthodox, etc. because the devil hates Christ.
When the Enemy sees US, he sees we are one because we are Christ's
Is this surprising, really? Is this news to anyone?
You need to pick one story and stick to it. First it's: I said we can't judge whether SOMEONE ELSE is saved or not
Then in the next breath you are making a judgment based on observation:We can observe who an individual focuses on and if it's anyone other than Christ it's doubtful
Those are direct contradictions.
And you prove it again here:I said "obviously" by observation. I can give my impression by my observation all day long.
So then how about giving me your "Impression" as to whether or not these people are saved or not saved:
Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker Jimmy Swaggert (Before, during, or after the adultery)
Peter Popoff and his magical wheelchairs.
Benny Hinn
Joel Osteen.
Ernest Angley
Fred Phelps
I am betting you won't.
I don't conjecture on anyone else's salvation. I know they are not in line with teaching from scripture any more then the Catholic Church is.
And he knows what the devil sees and is thinking how exactly?
Can I call it or what!
Pope Francis, like every one of us, can see that the forces of evil (the secular/sodomy state in the USA and Europe, ISIS, Boko Haram and the jihadists, etc) are attacking Christians without discrimination as to denomination, sect or creed. He concludes from this that the demons hate Chirstians, period.
Fair observation, it seems to me.
Thank you for proving me correct by IGNORING the evidence that disproves your lame questions - again!
