BREAKING: Pope takes major step toward formal heresy

"I feel like saying something that may sound controversial or even heretical. But there is someone who knows that despite our differences we are one. It is he who is persecuting us. It is he that is persecuting Christians today; he who is anointing us with the blood of martyrdom, knows that Christians are disciples of Christ. That we are one, that we are brothers! He doesn't care if they are Evangelicals, Orthodox, Lutherans, Catholics or Apostolic. He doesn't care! They are Christians."

verga, you wrote...

“Several months ago I asked if any of the prots on this list could say something nice about either the Catholic Church as a whole or even about an individual Catholic.”

I have repeatedly said the good things I can about the Roman denomination - including on a thread this week. I’m “one,” so your statement is not true.

“Every non-Catholic here is very quick to jump on every perceived sin of the Catholic Church but not one of you is willing to speak out against even a single one of people.”

I have also condemned sin by anyone in ministry - Catholic or Christian - in any ministry. I’ve condemned the abuse of children and never excused it wherever it happened. I’ve also condemned the hierarchy of the Roman church covering it up. I’ve also never responded to a claim of child abuse by saying it “happens everywhere” as has been posted on FR by FRomans.

Best.

Sorry for the misunderstanding I posted to you as a courtesy ping so you could see the (in)actions of other non-Catholics

Unitatis Redintegratio and Lumen Genitium

Read them, if you can.

Likewise, “separated brethren” according to Catholic Answers, in This Rock, “refers to those who, though separated from full communion with the Catholic Church, have been justified through baptism and are thus brethren in Christ.”

Sorry I misunderstood your intent.

We should all, as believers, condemn sin. Especially by those in ministry, knowing they will be held to a higher standard.

I write that knowing I still have a sin nature, despite my salvation. I look forward to the day I no longer have the life of Adam inside me, but only the life of Christ. What a day that will be.

Best

I’ve read them. They are neither dogmatic nor doctrinal.

As far as partial communion (as compared to full communion), is that the same as partially pregnant?

Pope Francis didn't just say that the devil thinks that all Christians are one, but that the devil knows we are all one.

Isn't that amazing! Not only does Francis know what the Luther knows, he also knows the Holy Ghost has surprises in store for us!

We don’t consider our works to count for any brownie points for salvation unlike Catholics who are depending on them and bragging on their works like going to mass, confession, being baptized, taking communion, working in the soup kitchens, etc. Christians ask God to save them in His mercy and He does and we’re sure of it. Why? Because He promised and we know He can’t lie. So we trust Him.

We are free to reject Christ at any time and many people do every day.

Don't you remember the story where he told some....you didn't feed me when I was hungry, you didn't clothe me when I was naked, you didn't visit me when I was in prison...., you go to that side.....those who did feed, clothe, visit me (meaning the least among us), you go to this side.....that indicates to me that our behavior certainly has a lot to do with our salvation....you can't accept Christ as your savior and deny His instructions as how to be a successful human. He personally established the Catholic church to guide us on our journey and He personally instituted the seven Sacraments to be our source of grace. You can't just say "Jesus I accept you and now I'm saved" and then proceed to live whatever lifestyle that you prefer.....it can't possibly work that way....

Sadly I have found on these threads that some people (prots) will choose to reject simple straight forward truth rather than accept the Catholic Church.

Christ fasted for forty days in the desert.

It is beneath you to also fast? How sure are you of your “salvation”?

Sadly I have found on these threads that some people (prots) will choose to reject simple straight forward truth rather than accept the Catholic Church.

Take stable, decent, God loving family that is .....say Lutheran. Mom and dad raised them Lutheran although none had any formal training in the Lutheran religion.

One person in the couple is inspired somehow to investigate Catholicism. The couple decides to take the RCIA or whatever introduction to the church is available and becomes convinced that it is the way to go.

Now they, with the four grandchildren must somehow break the news to their parents, grandparents relatives that they are leaving their beloved Lutheran church, becoming Catholic followers and seek the approval of their vast change in life.

has to be VERY TRAUMATIC to say the least!!!!!

I think it is interesting (read that as: completely hypocritical) that none of the prots on this list can call sin, sin, not a single one of you. Several months ago I asked if any of the prots on this list could say something nice about either the Catholic Church as a whole or even about an individual Catholic.

And I think you just don't pay enough attention to the things non-Caths say on the RF threads. You like to toss out challenges but never seem to acknowledge when they have been met. I'm starting to think you just like to use such words to castigate non-Cath Christians and try to prove some nonsensical point. Why should anyone bother rising to your demands?

I've seen each one of those excoriated in these threads. Are you not paying attention? Besides, in what way do those men relate to any of us?

You seem to like to play that association game as if what those men do reflects on us. Does that then mean we should understand that you are associated with all Catholics? Pelosi, Ted Kennedy, Joe Biden, Cardinal Dolan, the gay priests? All in good standing and active in the Catholic Church.

The question was not if they were excoriated, the question was: "Saved or not saved?" And it related to you since all of you have stated that a simple declaration of faith in Jesus is all it takes to be saved and that you can't lose that salvation. Those are the rules that YOU ALL have set up.

That guilt by association is exactly what the non-Catholics do on these threads on a daily basis.

>>The question was not if they were excoriated, the question was: "Saved or not saved?"<<

It's not our place to declare someone saved or not saved.

>>And it related to you since all of you have stated that a simple declaration of faith in Jesus is all it takes to be saved<<

Acts 16:30 and after he brought them out, he said, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" 31 They said, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household."

So now your saying Paul and Silas were Protestants?

>>That guilt by association is exactly what the non-Catholics do on these threads on a daily basis.<<

Obviously you concur with the practice by posting your list.

Here is the actual translation of the original Spanish:

“And it comes to my mind to say something that may be foolish or perhaps a heresy, I don't know.”

Nowhere does he say it may "sound" like heresy. He blatantly admits that it may "be" heresy. And yet he says it anyway!

He doesn't care if it is heresy! The man who claims to be the leader of the Catholic Church doesn't care if what he said is heresy! Formal heretics typically don't care what the Church actually teaches.

You will find that there are a lot more Modernists on this board than originally thought. Most of them are the same ones who continuously defend Francis and Vatican II.

CB, they just do not understand that Protestant or evangelical does not = saved ... it is simply where they go to church ...

They think they are being clever by throwing our names that bring a giggle ... all they show is their ignorance of the gospel

Where did I or any other follower of Christ ever state that?

Show us the post number.
