Update:

I called Mom at the hospital this afternoon. I could not see her, since the hospital is in one direction, and my job is in the opposite direction, unfortunately. She seemed to be doing better. She had a very high potassium level, her kidney function was below where it should be, and one of her new blood pressure medications might have reacted with something else. She is on a much more restricted diet than she was prior to hospitalization. Nonetheless, she will probably come home tomorrow.
