A clinic worker described one of the women who came to her clinic for an abortion:
Another [woman coming in for an abortion] who identified herself as Christian, was very active in her church. Before the abortion she said, Im in church six days a week, yet here I am. She said that her religion forbids abortion, but after a good conversation she said that maybe her church was too comfortable in its position against abortion. She thought maybe they needed to examine the aspects of the issue that they were comfortable with. Even though she was steeped in her religion and its teachings, she knew in her heart that she was making the right choice.
Had this woman gone to a crisis pregnancy center, the counselor would have immediately seen that her ambivalence and religious beliefs were red a flag that indicated that she might have extreme emotional distress after her abortion. The counselor would be talking about support systems, about getting help from her church in handling the unplanned pregnancy. The counselor would be finding a way that both mother and baby could live.
This also goes to show that even Christian women active in their churches get abortions. Pro-lifers should not assume that just because a woman is Christian, she will never be an abortion patient. Christian women can panic and feel desperate, just like non-christian women.

religion has zero to do with it.
There is a huge difference between sinning and feeling remorse or shame and advocating that Christians change there mind and accept certain evils. There are a growing number of "Christians" feeling rather comfortable and accepting with abortion and homosexuality.
Just more of this "feel good" Christianity where we're encouraged to compromise with evil so we can feel good about ourselves.
Panic is never the right state of mind in which to make big decisions, like whether or not to kill an innocent being.
Not seeing a lot of Episcopalian churches open 6 days a week either.
Wouldn’t surprise me though.
Churches are not really "open". There's all kind of activity, youth meetings, choir practice twice a week, some committee meeting, Wednesday services, women's prayer meeting, men's prayer breakfast, and on and on. If you are really involved in your church, you can be there a lot during the week.
Of course. Modern day atheists can be very annoying, but they are not running around murdering people.
The question is not: whether or not Christians sin.
The question is: whether or not murder is sin.
Actually I agree with you. This is a fictional woman who exists for the sole purpose of spreading the propaganda of the church hating abortion lovers.
The story reads exactly as you would imagine it would be written to serve the pro-abortion writer’s purpose.
I’m with you on this.
Your observations may reflect the way things appear on the surface, but in reality murder and atheism are intrinsically linked.
Hm. Ok Pharisee. You throw the first stone then.
But if this story is true which I doubt, she must not be.
I have a feeling that the stones people may be throwing will not hit anything because there is nothing real to hit except propaganda.
Having an abortion is not a temptation that we give into in a weak moment, but a willful decision against God that takes planning.
For full disclosure I blame the people that have voted to give the right for a woman to have an abortion, more than I blame the woman...but that is in regard to the non Christian masses.
For a Christian to do it different story.
But if you listened hard to what the girl says....clearly she was only a nominal Christian and not saved.
No doubt this woman was from a mainline Church, probably one that has Democrats and Republicans, probably Catholic
Many people are unsaved and active in mainline liberal Churches.
Church does not determine if a person is saved or not, but you can be sure she was not from a white Pentecostal Church...I only say WHITE, because the ALL Black Pentecostal Churches support abortion by their democrat votes
And she was not from a Salvation Army Church or any Bible Believing Church for that Matter(Bible believing Churches do not vote Democrat)
I think if her religion had a more specific name than "Christian" -- like a well-known name that was clearly identified in the public mind with the pro-life cause -- the author would have given it to you, because it would have strengthened her point.
But of course, I think this woman was basically invented for propaganda purposes, so I wouldn't trust the details anyway.
As an aside, I have never in my life heard a Catholic describe him or herself as "in church six days a week". You're either a daily communicant or you aren't. If you're a daily communicant, you're in church seven days a week, not six.
Jesus embraced the sinners *and saved them*. They did not come to him already saved.
Is she falsely taking on the mantle of a Christian? Possibly. Which is the better remedy, though: pointing the finger of accusation and screaming about her not being a REAL Christian, or praying for her and showing her truth through love? (Which one looks more like Westboro Baptist Church and which one looks more like Jesus?)
Truth through love, my friend. Truth through love.
I believe that was one of the lessons Jesus was showing with the prostitute. She had clearly sinned - I don’t believe that was ever in question - but Jesus did not point at her and say, “Those that engage in prostitution are not REAL JEWS!” He said, “You are all sinners. I forgive.” (paraphrased, of course)
Final note: Have you ever worked on Sunday? (Or Saturday - whenever you want to observe the Sabbath?) Have you EVER lied? I do not believe Moses said, “These are the 10 commandments. Killing, adultery, idolatry? Don’t ever do those things. They are more serious than the others. Working on Sunday? Meh. God gets it. You gotta do what you gotta do.”
How come we never get so up in arms about people who work on Sundays? Suddenly we are able to forgive? Or are we really just unfit judges, and there is one best, true judge?
“Panic is never the right state of mind in which to make big decisions, “
You hit upon it right there.
Jim even Christians make mistakes. Some worse than others. Sadly.
“Having an abortion is not a temptation that we give into in a weak moment, but a willful decision against God that takes planning.”
You really believe that???
The product, abortion, is skillfully marketed and sold to the woman at the crisis time in her life. She buys the product, finds it defective and wants to return it for a refund. But, it’s too late.
Carol Everett (former clinic owner)
Think about that quote. “is skillfully marketed and sold to the woman at the crisis time in her life”. Tells me they get to her when she is not able to think strait due to a stressful event. Talking about the hunter and they prey. Or is it just a cheap trick for money? Either way Christian women fall prey just as much as not Christian women due to panic if there is no support system in place BEFORE HAND.
Once again churches need to have one in place so I don’t have stories like this to post. Do you get me now?
as we saw claimed (and i believe the numbers) in a previous survey post, denominational, self-identified, “christians” come into planned parenthood all the day long in roughly the same precentages as they are represented in the general US population. most know from the historical position of their denominations that abortion is murder and murder is a sin.
unfortunately, mere attendance in a certain type of building doesn’t, however, have any influence what it takes to be a true, in the Spirit, Christian. that is the sole province of Father God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.
