A clinic worker described one of the women who came to her clinic for an abortion:
“Another [woman coming in for an abortion] who identified herself as Christian, was very active in her church. Before the abortion she said, “I’m in church six days a week, yet here I am.” She said that her religion forbids abortion, but after a good conversation she said that maybe her church was “too comfortable” in its position against abortion. She thought maybe they needed to examine the aspects of the issue that they were comfortable with. Even though she was steeped in her religion and its teachings, she knew in her heart that she was making the right choice.”
Had this woman gone to a crisis pregnancy center, the counselor would have immediately seen that her ambivalence and religious beliefs were red a flag that indicated that she might have extreme emotional distress after her abortion. The counselor would be talking about support systems, about getting help from her church in handling the unplanned pregnancy. The counselor would be finding a way that both mother and baby could live.
This also goes to show that even Christian women active in their churches get abortions. Pro-lifers should not assume that just because a woman is Christian, she will never be an abortion patient. Christian women can panic and feel desperate, just like non-christian women.

Sounds like a religious person, not a Christian. If she thinks the “church” decides what is right or wrong she is DEAD wrong. God is the supreme authority on right and wrong and He does not change based on society’s evolution. She is very fortunate in that “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” She (as does every lost sinner) needs to repent and let Jesus be her Lord and savior.
One of the primary intellectual problems experienced by abortionists is their initial premise that abortion is something other than murder.
Interestingly, Hippocrates who was the Father of medicine did believe in the sanctity of life. He was not a Christian but he instinctively knew that abortion was wrong.

The “holier than thou” on this thread should remember what forgiveness is. No one knows what is in a person’s heart and what sins a person regrets and asks the Lord to forgive.
All have sinned and come short of the Glory of God.
Lots of non-Christians, both religious and non-religious, believe in the sanctity of life. If a person thinks of themselves as religious you would think it would be a no brainer.
She is in open rebellion. We are called to judge those among us who do evil.
But those who practice sin are the children of the devil.
Most of the comments on this thread are calling the author’s views into question including the accuracy of (or existence of) the “Christian woman” she’s writing about.

Probably Episcopalian. If she were Catholic, she would have identified herself as so. You’ll never see, for instance, Nancy Pelosi call herself “Christian,” no matter how hard she tries to wrap herself in religion. Non-Hispanic Catholics often come from areas where liberal Protestantism is the dominant form of Christianity, so liberal heretics think it speaks more to say they’re Catholic.

yes, just as we should disagree with her opinion that suicide is O.K., and with her opinion that she can kill ANY other human being just because she thinks that its O.K.
A religious Christian is a term made up by secular liberals who believe there are degrees of sin and Christianity.
Does this woman exist? I’m doubtful.
This article is not representing this as a woman who just sinned like we all do. She’s saying “I know in my heart I am a religious woman, thus it cannot be that I did something bad. Do not feel bad to do the same yourself. It is time those who view abortion as sin need to reevaluate their positions.”
Christians do NOT support abortion but are inclined to have them in secrete only to avoid shunning for having an illegitimate child.
The woman chooses her own will over the will of God. She believes being a Christian justifies her desires.
