The “holier than thou” on this thread should remember what forgiveness is. No one knows what is in a person’s heart and what sins a person regrets and asks the Lord to forgive.
All have sinned and come short of the Glory of God.

She is in open rebellion. We are called to judge those among us who do evil.

But those who practice sin are the children of the devil.

Most of the comments on this thread are calling the author’s views into question including the accuracy of (or existence of) the “Christian woman” she’s writing about.

Did you even read the article?
“Even though she was steeped in her religion and its teachings, she knew in her heart that she was making the right choice.
Are we wrong to disagree with this opinion of hers?

If this is indeed an accurate quote, I don't sense any repentance in her quote, do you?
There is a huge difference between sinning and feeling remorse or shame and advocating that Christians change there mind and accept certain evils. There are a growing number of "Christians" feeling rather comfortable and accepting with abortion and homosexuality.
Just more of this "feel good" Christianity where we're encouraged to compromise with evil so we can feel good about ourselves.

The holier than thou on this thread should remember what forgiveness is.
This is the Devil's corruption of scripture. None of us can say whether this woman deserves Hell or not, or whether God will forgive her. True forgiveness is not ours to give or deny, so it is the height of arrogance to assume that WE should be forgiving egregious sin and blasphemy. WE cannot do that. Only God can. Our duty is to adhere to the Word of God and help others do so as well. And, as it is with alcoholics and drug addicts, sometimes helping them involves admonishment and stern disapproval. Sometimes, it may even involve more drastic actions (a good smack across the face or incarceration, as examples).
Anyone who says that we should ignore sin or "forgive" it is doing the Devil's work.
