How Many Protestant Denominations Are There? [vanity]

How Many Protestant Denominations Are There?

Partial List of 5000+ Protestant Denominations by Name

How Many Protestant Denominations Are There?    The 20,000 / 30,000 numbers and David Barrett's statistics

"The Facts and Stats on "33,000 Denominations" The 20,000 / 30,000 numbers and David Barrett's statistics
Part II

(Above links derived from here) ===> ("How Many Protestant Denominations Are There?")

⛪⛪⛪⛪⛪⛪⛪⛪⛪⛪

There are many, many more Protestant denominations out there, not just those reflected in the links above.    How many?    Well, nobody really knows for sure exactly how many Protestant denominations exist at any given point in time, because after you get done counting the first forty or fifty thousand, several thousand more new ones pop up here and there all over the place, like popping pop corn!      :-)

We Catholics love all our Protestant brothers and sisters (no matter how many denominations or "non-denominations" they belong to), and we simply want to share the fullness of the truth with them, so that they can find the precious jewel (the "pearl of great price") that we have already found (by the Grace of God).     With that in mind, the following song is dedicated to all our beloved Protestant brothers and sisters, and their ever-increasing number of distinct and ever-changing denominations with contradictory, mutually-exclusive, incompatible teachings.    (And, no, that is not a bunch of cardinals singing that song!)

(Song -- "Bless 'em All!")

(This song is a tribute to all our beloved Protestant brothers and sisters, no matter what denomination -- or "non-denomination" -- they are currently in.)

"I appeal to you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree and that there be no dissensions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and the same judgment."     (1 Corinthians 1:10)

You get an A for doggedness.

As far as theology that makes any sense, that’s a different story.

To take “the flesh” of Jesus now, if that were even possible, would be a superfluous anachronism. “It is finished.” The Son donned that robe of flesh for a specific purpose. Once it died, the purpose was fulfilled.

Talking with some of these folks, it’s like they’re going the wrong way down a street whose signs all face away from them.

What I posted makes perfect sense. Jesus always keeps His promises. He gave us His flesh to eat and His blood to drink - just as He said He would.

The documented history of Passover Seder meals also highlights the symbolic nature of the matzo and wine used therein. This context, too, calls for a symbolic meaning of the Lord’s Supper elements. There’s so much Judaiphobia in the church that it has forgotten its roots.

I wouldn’t call this “illogic.” All the signs are screaming, symbol! symbol! symbol!

At best the R.C. take is confused. At worst it’s idolatry.

The word “Bible” is not found anywhere in the Bible.

Neither is IDIOT: but Fool is.

Absolutely, but since we do not hold to the heresy of sola scriptura it isn’t an issue.

Hail, holy Queen, mother of mercy, our life, our sweetness and our hope.
To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve.
To thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears.
Turn then, most gracious advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us, and after this our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary!
Pray for us, O holy Mother of God, that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Amen.

And this is kind of silly anyhow. In bible days, the bible was called “the scriptures.”

Their search of the Scriptures could not negate anything Paul taught because they were unqualified to judge apostolic doctrine.

MY search of them surely shows how ROME teaches NON-apostolic 'doctrine'!!

Publicly calling the a Catholic Church a cult is rather audacious for a man who will not name his denomination, sect, group, or cult he assembles with, would you agree ?

Oh?

That's why the emperor could strut around naked?

The boy had no 'qualifications'?

Revelation 3:17

and know not that you are wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:

What God commands is not sin (John 6:53).

So...

...Jesus said, "Bite me?"

A direct encounter of Christ (like I have had and still have) does make this look very superfluous, at best.

Why would I make a round the world satellite phone call to talk to someone who is on the other side of the kitchen table from me?

The problem with the idea of Christ being on the altar is that he is then rarely found anywhere else. You will get an occasional Mother Teresa who can appreciate the fully ministering omnipresence of Christ. But the common people? It’s like it’s the altar or nothing... so disappointing to God.

Not when its Jesus’ blood and He commands us to have it.

Someone opens their Bible, reads what the LORD said and assumes it is to them directly.

You guys ain't Apostles; why do want to do what Jesus told THEM to do?

Well, chow down on Him in a SPIRITUAL sense.

If there is one thing all serious evangelicals agree on, it is this!

“Bite Me” ... good grief.

Actually the Russian Orthodox are even worse than the Roman Catholic. They stab that loaf with gusto, with a full transubstantiation view (not a symbolic view). Ai yi yi yi!

Well in this case it wouldn’t matter. He isn’t asking anything more of the apostles here.

No; He gave it to the APOSTLES.

The bible references to scriptures were all about sacred scriptures. The word bible comes from the Greek biblos, or book. It’s a matter of synonyms. In the Old Testament a book and a scroll were the same thing (sefer).

This isn’t like “trinity” for which there really isn’t even a synonym in the bible. It’s an okay theological term but shouldn’t be regarded as direct scriptural.
