Is this man on drugs or something...
Charismatic mega Church prosperity teacher Joel Osteen brands the US President as «A good Christian, who is doing a good job in a difficult time.
Joel Osteen and his wife
These questions came to mind while watching Joel Osteen and his lovely wife, Victoria, on CNNs Larry King Live last week. King pointed out that many Americans are still confused about Obamas religion and asked, «Does it matter?»
«Well, it matters to me,« said Osteen. «It matters to me that I know he loves the Lord, and I think its important that he has convictions from his faith. So to me, it matters when Im making my personal decisions».
Mrs. Osteen weighed in, too: «It does. It matters to me.
I believe he is a Christian».

You are right. This has nothing to do with the size of the church. It has everything to do with the MESSAGE of the GOSPEL being diluted, desecrated and demolished!!
The GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST must NEVER be compromised, EVER!
Joel Osteen’s $10.5 Million Mansion, Cross-Less Church and Other Surprising Facts About the Mega-Pastor
I listened in on Sirius the other day while he was blathering on about listening to God. If you have an unsettled spirit it is God telling you not to do something. OK, I get that.
The he starts talking about how, over a period of several years his dad agreed to buy land from a farmer to expand the church and at the last minute backed out because of this unsettled spirit.
The first time it was because the banknote would have been too high.
The second time they had enough for a good down payment but he was still was unsettled.
The third time the farmer was having a tough time of things and had to sell, lowered the price from $20,000 an acre to $5,000 and acre.
Osteen took that as a reward for being patient and listening to God. Now here is my issue. A good faith offer was made to buy the property twice. At the last minute the church backed out. What happened to letting your yes be a yes? Secondly, does this not reek of the church taking advantage of someone who is down on their luck? All in all it doesn't seem like the Biblical model of doing business with someone.
He is a Pharisee
:: he gets his cash from the flock ::
Which is why I used the term “by-way-of the gummint”.
The ‘Prosperity Gospel’ is insidious in it’s deception. If “the flock” are comfortable with looking to Uncle Sugar for some (or all) portion of their so-called prosperity, do they then provide Osteen with offerings according to their “prosperity”?
Just thinking out loud...
You are right! The owner of the threshing floor area was willing to give it away but the King insisted on paying full price.
There is just something about radio/television preachers that grates on me.
“Send me $5.00 a week or a month and I will pray you straight into Heaven”
See post #48. I think that shows my assertion might be close to the troof.
When I first listened to Zero, I said to myself he is like a tent evangalist with his hopey changy crap, greek stage and all that stuff. How about that There is a power in you that has more power than that can be used against you or something close to that. I put that right up there with America will be fundamentally changed. No one ask the a holes what the hell that means!
EBT and Lotto! A potent religious experience!
I’ve been tempted to put out rebuttals on the “Word of the day” posts-—but the rule against responding to them and fear of being deleted deterred me. Osteen has no idea what it means to be a Christian-—in his world you just pray hard and God will give you a mercedes.
That’s the idiocy of it. Those threads could be a lot of fun if we were allowed to actually comment.
They might as well have devotional, criticism-free threads dedicated to fire-breathing Imams while they’re at it. They’re leading they’re followers to the same final destination as O$teen.
“Their”, not “they’re”. Yeesh.
No, I doubt that.
We're on the way home from Houston, where we rode by his mega-"church" two or three times - it's a huge converted basketball palace.
Good way to lose a million viewers. LOL. What a fool.
A mega church full of folks who have forgotten to pray for discernment?
