The Big Bang doesnt contradict the intervention of a divine Creator, but demands it, Pope Francis said Monday morning, because the beginning of the world is not the work of chaos. The Pope was addressing the plenary assembly of the Pontifical Academy of Sciences, gathered in the Vatican to discuss Evolving Concepts of Nature. God is not some sort of wizard, said Francis, but rather the Creator who brought all things into being. The origin of the world derives directly from a supreme Principle of creative love, he added. Evolution in nature is not inconsistent with the notion of creation, because evolution requires the creation of beings that evolve.

Actually, the Bible says zero about evolution of something into something else...with the exception of a serpent losing it’s legs in Genesis :)

Eisegesis? Ken Ham gets to the heart of the debate about the six days of creation. If we read from what the biblical text says (exegesis), it allows only one interpretation-six 24-hour days of Creation. Any other interpretation is eisegesis (when people”read into” the Bible).
For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
well .. then we agree !
because the earliest info .. was the creation story!
The creation story HAD to of been passed down orally, and to a MUCH more primitive man than Moses, and certainly more primitive than us living here in the 21 century!
Heck even in Jesus’s time they were still talking about germs as “evil spirits” !!
Did Jesus know that germs were not “evil spirits”? absolutely ! But he had to talk to the people in a way THEY could understand!
The exact same way a scientist would adjust how he describes something very complicated to a child!
and I dont believe that science books that lie about creation were meant to describe what God did, either
it is a fairy tale to believe you are related to a salamander or an ape, and in fact, you should be put in an insane asylum for believing that your relatives had gills like a fish once
it is the height of insanity to believe in evolution
Very little of the Bible can be taken anything but literally.
It is the most precisely accurate information on Earth.
.
God does not evolve because God is perfect..infinitely perfect.. there is no room for improvement.
So if your reasoning was true..man would be like God perfect without sin.. incapable of sin.. because we are in the image of God...
You make God that is infinite and perfection equals to the finite imperfect man based on we are created in his image?.....
You seen to miss the simple fact that God is not Created.. but we are created..
So no equally between us and God... we have room to grow and improve..or fail. It called evolving.
Not by Darwin and natural selection but by acts of God selection....
To be created in God image in to be created self aware as is God and not a blind animal or a dead inert thing.
But is does not makes us perfect in our self awareness like God is..
Because we are created and finite .we can never be not created and infinite as is God...
So ours is a journey of perpetual improvement needed for we shall remain imperfect in are relation to God and the reason that God' grace is required else we have no hope
>>Any other interpretation is eisegesis (when peopleread into the Bible).<<
All readings of the Bible are “reading into.”
Heck they haven’t even settled the “yom” thing and that goes into antiquity.
And you are correct, the Bible is silent on most science.
As I said, I will not get drawn into a discussion about TToE as this is about what the Pope said about the Big Bang and how it posits the existence of the Judeochristian God (which gainsays your original rather bizarre post).
Don’t say I didn’t warn ya...
I am not sure what a copy and paste that is so long that NO ONE will read it has meaning?
A link and synopsis would probably have had the same effect.
It doesn’t even address the simple “yom” issue I presented to you...
>> “The creation story HAD to of been passed down orally, and to a MUCH more primitive man than Moses, and certainly more primitive than us living here in the 21 century!” <<
Astounding gibberish!
Adam was the most perfect, intelligent, and functional man that ever existed.
The human race has continuously degenerated to the disgusting mess that it is today, riddled with inherited disease, physical, and mental.
We are in serious need of our creator’s soon return.
Think yourself!
Early man was far more advanced than degenerated modern man can even imagine.
Their construction methods cannot be duplicated today.
.
We do not evolve, we have continually devolved.
.
Not bummed at all. Thanks for the info!
omg...
you are seriously stating that primitive man was more intelligent than us?
...
um... dude... they didn’t even have the WHEEL! what the heck are you talking about!
they thought the Earth was FLAT! that the winds came from 4 corners of that flat earth, that germs were evil spirits! they didn’t have writting! heck they didn’t even have paper! they didn’t know what the sun was! or the stars or ANYTHING!
WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT!!
how can ANYONE ! A N Y O N E believe they had more information and intelligence than us~!?!?!
Wrong.
You have no idea what they had.
You need to study the matter.
We cannot match the hardness of their alloys, not even close.
We can’t even make their composition today. We do not know how they were able to combine the elements that are found in their tools.
We definitely have devolved.
We’ll, that explains a lot of your posts. If you don’t take the bible literally do you believe Jesus really lived, was crucified, and rose again for our sins?
No Biblical scholar, I. Just a humble convert to the Roman Catholic faith. I don’t follow every twist and turn of Vatican politics, but I can say that this particular pontiff generates a lot of weird headlines!
I don’t remember light years mentioned in the bible. There was no oxygen yet, therefore no water.
This is the teaching of the Catholic Church.
