Why would intelligent, successful people give up their careers, alienate their friends, and cause havoc in their families...to become Catholic? Indeed, why would anyone become Catholic?

As an evangelist and author who recently threw my own life into some turmoil by deciding to enter the Catholic Church, I've faced this question a lot lately. That is one reason I decided to make this documentary; it's part of my attempt to try to explain to those closest to me why I would do such a crazy thing.

Convinced isn't just about me, though. More propaganda and absurd Roman reasoning. The fact is that those who hold most strongly to Scripture being the supreme authority as the wholly inspired and assured word of God, accurate in all of the principles it teaches, are by far the most religious conservative group, and much more than the fruit of Rome.

This line of reasoning begs the question(s)
1. Who are they, and who are not ? It seems to me this is a sore spot where many/most people refuse to give names to these groups. It is as if they freeze up in side and are afraid to give out a secret. I don't want a cast of thousands. I would like as many denominational/sect/fellowship/alliance names that you believe represent those you proffer in the argument.
2. Given that the Apostles remained in unity and are fulfilled by the earlier parts of this prayer, how do you reconcile the latter portion, especially if one supplants the Catholic Church and replaces it with X number of names who are not in communion with each other ? Did Jesus prayer fail for all these centuries (I speak as a man, God forbid; Jesus never fails) ?
3. Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

Scott Hahn is a preterist. According to him most of the events recorded in Revelation have already happened. The New Jerusalem has already descended. According to him Revelation was talking about the destruction of Jerusalem in 70AD.

It is no wonder that Hahn was drawn to the Cathic Church as it is there that preterist thought first began as seen here: http://en.academic.ru/dic.nsf/enwiki/14771.

I can see that. But for a few here with differing types of education, it's a matter of eternal life or death.

When someone keeps posting "You are wrong" without a shred of reasoning why, it becomes funny, and then a bit sad.

Both RCs and non-RC Christians on this thread believe we are contending for the Faith in some obscure but important way on this electronic forum.

When every knee bows and every tongue confesses "Jesus Christ is Lord", most participants on FR here will have all our opinions overshadowed (forgotten) and replaced by The Truth; He'll set the world straight, just as the Holy Spirit does now for followers of and believers in The Lord Jesus Christ.

Show proof that what the Catholic Church calls tradition not found in scripture is what the apostles were referring to as tradition.
