He presents as a gregarious, back-slapping used car salesman / wannabe politician.

No surprise. This is the same guy who invited Obama to speak at the Al Smith dinner. Dolan has been showing his true colors for some time now. To quote the late great Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen:
