Abolish Vatican statehood
The Boston Globe ^ | 9/1/2014 | James Carroll

Posted on 09/03/2014 8:35:47 AM PDT by Dr. Thorne

This contradiction was laid bare recently when the Holy See, acting in secret, threw the protective cloak of diplomatic immunity over Archbishop Jozef Wesolowski — the papal nuncio in the Dominican Republic and an alleged serial abuser of minors. In a show of toughness, church officials defrocked Wesolowski and promised to try him according to the laws of Vatican City. I agree it is widespread. I still feel shame for how JP2 brought Cardinal Law to the Vatican when the Boston abuses where pointing toward his ineptitude in handling of the cases. The Cardinal should have had to answer for his handling of Boston.

I don’t think that every denomination does have such a strong history of homosexuality and the sexual exploitation and mutilation of male children.

To allow a truly open investigation would be the death of Catholicism.

So if the pitiable adherents of this dark, evil force known as Catholicism were made aware of the truly unimagineable, heinous, satanic corruption which drives it, they'd all leave in the hundreds of millions and join the nearest Presbyterian Church and Catholicism would cease to exist.

Have I got that right?

“Perhaps James Carroll isn’t an honest broker ... and the Boston Glob is part of Leftist Big Media, and should be given the same credibility as the New York Slimes, the Washington Pest, and the Communist News Network.

Naaaaahhhhh ..-—

I gave up the Boston Globe after 60 years because of writers like Carroll.

Good points and questions.

But the Dr. doesn’t participate on these threads. More of a drive by poster..

On this forum if they are after Catholics then those media outlets are telling the truth.

Pope=Queen of Hearts! LOL, priceless! He has the shoes for the outfit. ;)

We are evil because we are not them. Period.

It’s a moot point. The order of Albino Assassin Monks would slay the investigators before it got that far.

You guessed wrong.

I am a Catholic.

Last I checked both the bride and the groom must be Catholic to be married in the Church.

Untrue. But you need an OK from the Bishop.

Has that changed? In the 70s the non-catholic just had to vow to raise the kids catholic.

It has not changed. The Bishop has to OK. If the person is a baptized (Trinitarian form) Christian. It's just a formality. If it's a non-Christian, you need formal permission of the Bishop.

OK. You could be correct there. I always thought both had to be Catholic to be married in the Church.

They prefer you to both be Catholic to have a Wedding Mass, but a Wedding Ceremony is preferred if one is not Catholic.

Pope may have the QoH’s red shoes, but at least he’s putting the trial and verdict before the sentence instead of running around screaming “Off with their heads!”
