Or is catholic
Proof again that many evangelicals and progressives agree totally on one thing
They really dislike Catholics and enjoy demeaning and provoking them
Short skirts, too?
The Five may be mainly Catholic, but are hardly social conservatives. Beckel is a Democrat. Gutfeld is a libertarian whose humor can be quite crude. Dana Perino is a Bush-lite politically correct PR consultant in D.C. who never says anything conservative about abortion, gay marriage or how small children need mothers at home. And they are all pro-homosexual marriage.
A sweeping generalization on your part.
Re-read 13, 17 & 19.
Are you suggesting that no one should have a problem with this? Did it occur randomly? That is the point. Period.
If it (the makeup at Fox News) didn’t occur randomly should people have a problem with that?
But, oh, I know, Roman Catholics are ever the victim...Boo hoo...
You may have nailed it with The Five.
Do we want liberals or conservatives on Fox News?
When liberals say that Fox News is “conservative” I wonder if I should laugh or cry.
Because he's a big, fat, White Northern Democrat guy who claims to have played football at some point?
Actually, according to his Wikipedia page, he's Protestant.
Greta Van Susteren is a Scientologist.
It would be a real surprise if Shepherd Smith were Catholic.
Mike Huckabee is -- well you know about Huckabee.
But there are two faulty assumptions here:
The first is that most media people are anything more than nominally religious.
The second is that any media outlet has to have some kind of quota system and carefully hire people based on religion to be "fair and balanced in the religion department."
Almost nobody, myself included, believes this is a result of discrimination against Protestants. 2% of the population holding 33% of the seats, and 25% of the population filling the rest.
But whenever similar disparities appear in other areas, the default assumption is that illegal/immoral discrimination can be the only possible explanation.
I knew when that Saudi Prince was allowed to buy 50,000 shares of Fox’s stock that it would soon trend leftward and it did.
The religion angle doesn’t particularly bother me, per se. I’m more put off by how FoxNews has tended to become so pro-amnesty, pro-dope, and pro-homo marriage.
Honestly, it’s really gotten to the point that the blather from FoxNews hardly seems any preferable than the blather from CNN. Same morally degenerate garbage. I used to have FoxNews on all the time, as a practical default position on my tv-channel dial. Nowadays at most I might catch a half-hour of its programming per week. And usually that’s more than enough!
Bill O’Reilly, Laura Ingraham and Sean Hannity are Catholics, not evangelicals, just an FYI. They have all talked about it, so I’m not sure why someone would post that they were something else, it’s not a secret...
Let’s remember that Nancy Pelosi is a Catholic as well and what in the hell does that matter?
With people worrying about “diversity” so much, lets not worry about what someone’s religion is, let’s concentrate on what their ACTIONS are. Anyone can be baptized in a religion, but that says nothing about who they are or what they stand for, example being the wicked witch of California...
I’d like for Fox to lean more conservative than it does—but I don’t feel inclined to go after the religion of the staff.
Talk about a red herring!
BTW—Huck’s not too conservative himself.
I agree.
Too many educated, achieving-class protestants (and their mainline churches) have left the conservative reservation for an equal demographic distribution to likely occur by happenstance.
And I’m a fan of happenstance.
Exactly, Madam.
It’s the pro-amnesty bit that really sticks in my craw.
Yeah you’re right. It’s all part of a plan to Romanize America. We’re gonna force feed you wafers and wine, serve you mackerel only on Fridays, and march you all to Mass on Sunday. We’ll make you worship graven images like statues of Saint Francis and The Virgin Mary. FoxNews is only the beginning. We are everywhere. We will be in control and know all that you see and do. Read the DaVinci Code. It’s all true.
I doubt it with Bob Beckel, don’t you?
Where are you getting that faulty information?
Don’t forget to practice your maniacal laugh and rub your hands together with wicked glee while saying that. Don’t be surprised if some of the less-than-bright anti-Catholics here actually believe you.
So do you want religion quotas? Talent or ability shall be deemed less important than having the quotient of religious diversity?
