They were men of the cloth.

But their cloth of preferance must have been silk -- as in lingerie.

Lead Pastor David Loveless, who has been married for 33-years and was recognized as "one of the top 20 Christian leaders in the US to watch," has resigned from the Discovery Church in Orlando after admitting to having an affair, reports the Orlando Sentinel.

Loveless is the third pastor of a major Orlando-area church to resign within the past six-months because of an affair.

Yeah, post 109 mentioned some of that.

I originally posted this: “Funny - the only person on this thread to even mention the word ‘Catholic’ (in well over 100 replies, no less) is...you.”

Post #39: First post mentioning the word “Catholic”. Made by you.

Post #68: Second post mentioning the word “Catholic”. Made by you.

Post #89: Third mention of the word “Catholic.” Made by you.

Post #95: Fourth mention of the word “Catholic”. Made by you.

It is not, in fact, until post #108 that someone other than you says the word outside of quoting your posts directly (albeit, in response to one of the aforementioned posts).

I’m not quite sure I understand what is “unusual” in highlighting that someone is trolling a thread about extramarital affairs among Protestant clergy with nonsensical ramblings about who owns an ugly building, but I’ve got to be honest - there’s a lot about you that I don’t understand.

Yes, using the word Catholic to describe a Catholic church, what is commonly known as the Crystal Cathedral.

Such as this one which was to post 3, at the very beginning of the thread, showing a picture of the catholic owned mega-church, the Crystal Cathedral.
To: Gamecock
The Crystal Cathedral is Roman Catholic. The Roman Catholic church wanted it at almost 60 million dollars and it fit their desire for grandiosity.

Your reaction to seeing the word Catholic in use for a Catholic church is just weird.

If the word “Catholic” bothers you, perhaps the religion section isn’t for you, and surely leave any thread once “Crystal Cathedral” comes up because that is a... well, you know...

By the way, another thing about religion, don’t work so hard to personalize your posts by saying strange things like my identifying ownership of the Crystal Cathedral is “rambling”, or “but I’ve got to be honest - there’s a lot about you that I don’t understand.”

Don't make the thread "about" individual Freepers. That is also a form of "making it personal."

Discuss the issues all you want, but do not make it personal.

Was that the Hula service or one of the others?

When I was about 13 and heavily involved with our family church, the married pastor ran off with my Dad’s married secretary.

That popped my illusion about the perfection of the man in front of the big room, with the robes.

well, a pastor or a priest is at the end, just a man. To me the important thing is that for the Divine Liturgy we have not only the Holy Spirit, but Christ present in the Eucharist. So the feeble, sinful man who concelebrates is just a feeble man. We are to look past him, he’s just another one in the community of Christ, with a ministerial role, but the main person at our celebration should always be, and our focus should always be on, Christ

Some people are just so obsessed that they see what they want to see everywhere, even on a thread that has nothing to do with their obsession, they raise it up

Like the folks who see racism everywhere.

Sad puppies, they have no positiveness in their lives or faith, just "we're not dem"

ansell: That is inaccurate in that a catholic church was being discussed.

the article:

Three Orlando mega-church pastors resign after admitting to affairs

tsk, tsk.. do stay on target.

This story reminds me of the PG Wodehouse novel about Tipton who drank too much and started seeing little bearded men in top hats everywhere...

***That popped my illusion about the perfection of the man in front of the big room, with the robes.***

I would say having your illusion popped is a good thing.

We are all sinners in need of grace. With some it is just move obvious that others.

Ansel, a lesson for you, as the RM said, Don't make the thread "about" individual Freepers. That is also a form of "making it personal." Discuss the issues all you want, but do not make it personal. "

So it's wrong to accuse another freeper of "personal attacks"

Do read this and it may help. God speed
