Washington Episcopal Bishop Marianne Budde, writing in her blog on the subject of Resurrection, opined that if someone were to discover a tomb with Jesus' remains in it, the entire enterprise would not come crashing down.
VOL: Actually, Bishop it would. Our faith would be in vain and we would be of all men (and women) most miserable. St. Paul writes in I Cor. 15, "For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance[a]: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Cephas,[b] and then to the Twelve. After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers and sisters at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles, and last of all he appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born."

Again, please remind me why I should care what the Church of Faggotry in Washington or any of its clergy (Leon, Priestess Budde, et. al.) says?
I have no doubt that they could one day find a tomb, identified as belonging to one “Jesus”, in however that is written in ancient Aramaic, or whatever.
Even a man that had been crucified.
So what? Lot's of people got crucified back then. In some places it's still going on. I won't mention which area of the world, or who's doing it.
“Jesus” probably was a fairly common name. Heck, even my own name, Chesley, was a lot more common 100 years ago, though rare now. We've gotten on ancestry.com and found about a dozen “Chesley”’s on my family tree, and another 8-9 on my wife's family tree. So why should “Jesus” be presumed to belong to the just one man?
So given that, why should NOT a man named Jesus have been crucified, who was NOT the Saviour? And if they found identifying marks as “King of the Jews”, or “the Messiah”, there, your fraud detector better start binging. But if they ever were actually able to prove that it was the Jesus's body lying in the grave, Christianity would die, immediately.
...Episcopal Bishop Marianne Budde....
***
Well, there is part of the problem right there, a female bishop.
Silly me! I thought Marianne was a name for a female.
Episcopal Bishop Vicky Robinson is a male. Well, sort of anyway.
How contrasting:

OUR LADY’S message
to MIRJANA SOLDO (Medjugorie)
for the ENTIRE WORLD!
“Dear children; I am calling you to be one with my Son in spirit. I am calling you, through prayer, and the Holy Mass when my Son unites Himself with you in a special way, to try to be like Him; that, like Him, you may always be ready to carry out God’s will and not seek the fulfillment of your own. Because, my children, it is according to God’s will that you are and that you exist, and without God’s will you are nothing.
As a mother I am asking you to speak about the glory of God with your life, because in that way you will also glorify yourself in accordance to His will. Show humility and love for your neighbour to everyone. Through such humility and love, my Son saved you and opened the way for you to the Heavenly Father.
I implore you to keep opening the way to the Heavenly Father for all those who have not come to know Him and have not opened their hearts to His love. By your life, open the way to all those who still wander in search of the truth.
My children, be my apostles who have not lived in vain. Do not forget that you will come before the Heavenly Father and tell Him about yourself. Be ready! Again I am warning you, pray for those whom my Son called, whose hands He blessed and whom He gave as a gift to you. Pray, pray, pray for your shepherds. Thank you.”
New scientific evidence in connection with its most recent display give more weight to the death and resurrection of Jesus:

The heretic does not even bother to pretend she believes in the Nicene Creed.
Thanks.
I am not heavily invested in the Shroud, as I think that the same arguments I put forth about finding “the tomb of Jesus” are equally valid here. How do you prove it?
Maybe you can prove that something happened, but how do you prove it was Jesus?
Whether or not it is the burial shroud of Jesus, or whether it is not, will not affect my faith one whit.
But it is a Vvery, very, interesting controversy, as people with agendas battle it out. :)
I wouldn’t call her (it?) a heretic. The title of the article seems to be misleading. She/it doesn’t seem to be denying the bodily resurrection but rather engaging in hypothetical speculation of what might happen were the authenticable remains of Christ found.
Which IS an interesting hypothetical. First, because finding the remains wouldn’t refute the resurrection at all. Rather it would refute the bodily ascension into Heaven, right? Which is still a major deal, one that would have significant theological and societal impacts ... ones that couldn’t easily be predefined.
Good gravy! What a ghastly haircut!
No, it would also refute the Resurrection.
This is because the Resurrection of Christ is not just the resuscitation of a corpse. That's what the raising of Lazarus was, as well as the son of the widow of Nain, Tabitha and others. In these latter cases, the people "recuperated from death," so to speak, only to die again at some subsequent time.
The Resurrection of Jesus was radically different. The New Testament makes it clear that Jesus body on that first Easter morning was not a resuscitated corpse like that of Lazarus, for although it was indeed the selfsame body that was born of the Virgin Mary, it had undergone a significant transformation. That is why His closest friends did and did not recognize Him, and it is why the risen Lord was able to pass through locked doors as well as appear and disappear. In other words, His body now possessed the properties of glorification. It was the body transfigured and transformed, immortal, with physical properties previously unknown. This means:
Such a body could never die again, or be found again in a grave. This is the kind of body all the saved will have, at the Resurrection of the Body, at the end of this world as we know it.
"Jesus" is a version of "Joshua," and therefore extremely common among Jews at the relevant time period: as common as "Joshua" is today. "Mary," a verson of "Miriam," was also extremely common, as we observe reading the New Testament and trying to sort out all the different Marys, mother of this person, wife of that person, from this place or that place.
At least the names are gender-specific, though, so it's not like all the Taylors and Hunters and Dakotas today.
Women Bishops and Women Rabbis are equivalent to Homosexual Marriage.
That is a MAN, baby!
The Holy Spirit, or as we called it when I was young, the Holy Ghost, guarantees to me that Jesus was real, the Son of God Incarnate.
Scientists will never have a proof as solid as that, whether for or against that statement of belief.
I agree.
Not really. You can avoid going to their places of worship. The gay couples wanting to get married, however, will be coming to YOUR place of worship. Count on it.
