During a recent interview at the White House, President Barack Obama said he fails to understand claims that his administration has been hostile to religion.
I find this very puzzling, Obama said in a March 12 interview with Des Moines, Iowa's WHO TV.
The president was asked to respond to charges that he has been waging a war on religion, a claim made by several of his Republican presidential competitors, as well as multiple other Christian leaders across the country.
He responded by saying that his first real job out of college was working with churches in low-income communities, trying to make sure that the social Gospel was made real.
I know what faith-based groups all across the country have been able to do in terms of providing help, he said, explaining that this is why his administration has expanded cooperation with faith-based groups on a whole range of issues.
Obama and his administration have been heavily criticized for holding what many consider to be an overly narrow and incomplete definition of religion.
The authenticity of Obamas personal faith has been called into question multiple times, including recently by evangelical minister Franklin Graham, who questioned whether the presidents actions matched up with the faith that he professes.

Barry should have enrolled in that free course about the U.S. Constitution at Hillsdale College that Rush has been talking about. Maybe he’d understand how our government is supposed to work.
hmmm... what is social Gospel??
Pathological liar.

“While he said that his personal faith is very important to him, he added that a problem is created when we start using religion as a bludgeon in politics, when we start questioning other peoples faith, when we start using religion to divide instead of bring the country together.
Yes, Hussein, this is what you do.
“hmmm... what is social Gospel??”
Whatever Hussein needs it to mean — today.
What does any of that have to do with religion?
He isn’t perplexed...he is angered that everyone doesn’t worship him.
He only makes war on biblical Christianity. Islam, and any New Age or 'Christian' group which can further the Marxist cause he embraces. So what's the problem? You can worship in any manner you choose. As long as it's HIS choice.
A lot of important things seem to "puzzle" our intellectually-challenged president, but I understand this one. I think that to him, because he is not hostile toward Islam or the secular religion of the Left (i.e., the "social Gospel"), to say he is hostile to religion is in fact "puzzling" to him.
The Book of Karl Marx
He responded by saying that his first real job out of college was working with churches in low-income communities, trying to make sure that the social Gospel was made real.
I don't know if that would count as a "real job".
unless he truly thinks the so-called social gospel has anything to do with Christianity. In which case, it's clearly obvious why he wouldn't “get it”.
This marxist mooselimb punk isn’t waging a war on religion, .
He’s just waging a war against Christians and Jews.
The Book of Karl Marx
He is so oblivious... He does not even realize he is telling us exactly who he is. His worshipers are oblivious too.
In short, it is a mixture of Robin Hood and Karl Marx, hiding behind Jesus.
