Britain's late Princess Diana has been posthumously baptised a Mormon.
The royal - who was killed in a Paris car crash in August 1997 - was 'baptised' by the church after her death, even though she didn't belong to the religion.
Diana - former wife of heir to the throne Prince Charles - was listed by her maiden name, Diana Frances Spencer, with her address as the family seat of Althorp, Northamptonshire.
Her file also includes her birth and death date, according to the Daily Mail newspaper.
Other late stars to have been 'baptised' posthumously include Charlie Chaplin, Marilyn Monroe and Rita Hayworth.
The Mormon Church believes that in the afterlife no one is beyond redemption, no matter how evil they were, so the list also includes Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler.
Helen Radkey has been investigating the Mormon Church - which is one of the world's fastest growing religions with 14 million followers, almost half in the US.
Using a computer log-on passed to her by a disaffected follower, she researched the databases in the Church's Family History Library and found that the names of hundreds of thousands of dead people had been logged, so they could be baptised as Mormons.
20The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?
21Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.
22But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.
23Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.
24And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

When you sold your possessions and gave to the poor, was there much paper work involved? Did you need an attorney, or was the process simple enough that you did it without help? What have you found to be the hardest thing about being poor?
Make that Matt 19.
So true!
All of them MORMON quotes and 'scripture' at #99, 103, 111 would REALLY turn someone off from being a mormon all right!

You have somehow confused ME with this THOU person.
Is ALL of your bible knowledge this misapplied?
I rest my case...
Hey, sweetie you forgot the sarcasm tag. Just a heads up.
Thanks punk’n.
Maybe you should read my posts more carefully.
You left a few words unreddened:

By any current or historical measure, most people in the Western world are rich. You have material things that were not available to rich men at any price 2,000 years ago. I'm afraid if the NT is literally true, you'll be joining most of the rest of humanity in the lake of fire!
And I'm afraid of your logic leaps.
Tell me; from your crystal ball; whether I am in the 99% or the 1% that's been in the news lately.
I’ll work on mixing it up. The anti-Mormons are one-trick ponies... sometimes it’s easy to fall down to their kindergarten level ... I’ll work on it ... thanks !!!
You ask: why do only choose to agree with the apostle Paul on one of his three points?
Answer: because that sardonic Jewish Carpenter once reprimanded the apostles over such nit picking.(Mark 9 39).
and because most of the LDS that I know are actually seeking to serve God with their whole heart soul and mind. Many are ex christians whose churches turned to follow the world.
And we Catholics believe in “baptism of desire”: That when a person seeks by his actions to follow God in a just life and helps his neighbor, he is really seeking God and serving Him. (Matthew 25:31).
and no, I don’t see it harming a 12 year old to be baptized in proxy...I’ve seen 12 year olds on drugs, being sexually abused, worrying about the lastest stuff they will nag their parents to buy, etc. so why should I worry when the kids offer to get wet help someone in heaven?
as for that “live a bad life and then get into heaven the last minute”: I don’t think it works that way. But then we Catholics hold that death bed conversions will get us to heaven, and that pesky carpenter mentioned the same thing (Matthew 20) so why should I criticize another church that seeks the same chance for someone they love or care about?
So they baptize the dead, and I pray that my loved ones get out of purgatory, and both of us are praying that these folks find salvation and the love of God.
There is a difference between respecting someone’s beliefs and agreeing with them, you know. There will be enough persecution of all people of faith if Obama gets reelected, so I wouldn’t worry about fellow travelers to heaven just because the “deep doctrines” are a bit off...
Someone is having a huge degree of success explaining just that in China and Korea.
You only have one trick?
Who knew!
