A recent poll discovered that Florida Sen. Marco Rubio is a top pick for the GOP vice presidential candidate – regardless of who ends up winning the presidential nomination. But could his Mormon roots disturb his momentum and keep him off the ballot?
Two of Rubio's cousins told BuzzFeed.com that the senator was baptized in the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints when he was 11-years-old. This is something Rubio has never made mention of himself.
Alex Conant, a spokesman for Rubio, confirmed the cousins' report and told BuzzFeed.com that Rubio converted to Catholocism a few years after becoming Mormon along with his family. Rubio is still Catholic today and a spokesman for the senator told The New York Times that Rubio is a "practicing and devout Roman Catholic," adding that the senator "regularly attends Catholic Mass," and has been "baptized, confirmed and married in the Roman Catholic Church."
Although Rubio's involvement with the Mormon church was brief and during his childhood, it might be enough to stop his meteoric rise to GOP stardom, according to observers.

Before information on his Mormon past was released, things were looking very bright for Rubio's political future. Fairleigh Dickinson University's PublicMind conducted a survey that revealed Rubio as a top vice presidential pick for the Republican Party.
The survey asked Republicans: "No matter who is the Republican nominee for president, if you could pick the vice presidential nominee who would it be?" The survey offered no choices, and participants were asked to write in their response...

Mormons believe, btw, that children are perfect thru 7 years and 364 days [365 days if a child was born on a leap-year]...but then must be baptized at age 8 for "remission of sin" they supposedly never had.
(Isn't that like giving radiation treatment to somebody who has yet to get cancer?)

Until the USSC rules on whether or not Obama is a natural born citizen, I conclude that Rubio is not eligible to be president and therefore could not be VP.
(1) For leaving the Mormon church--supposedly the "only true and living church on the face of the earth" per Mormon 'scripture' (Lds Doctrines & Covenants 1:30)...
(2) For joining what the Mormon church calls the "whore of Babylon" -- the "church of the devil" (1 nephi 14:9-10, Book of Mormon)
On pt #2, Catholics aren't alone...Protestants, too, are deemed by Mormons to be the daughter of the whore of Babylon and part of that same "church of the devil."
[Lds leaders have never "recalled" -- nor rescinded -- these statements in their "scriptures" nor interpretations of them by their past leaders...leaving them to stand "as is"]
What's interesting is that Mormons & Muslims "agree" on who Christians are: The Muslims call us "infidels" of the faith; and Mormons say we're part of the "univeral apostasy" and we, too, are supposed spiritual infidels who became "apostates" along with the founding fathers of our country.
The founding fathers of the Declaration of Independence -- well, at least their spirits -- were so insistent that they as dead people be baptized "Mormon" that they supposedly appeared to the Lds "prophet" Wilford Woodruff in the St. George, UT temple before he became the "prophet."
(Woodruff is the one who put the brakes on Mormon polygamy...so not like he was a Mormon "nobody")

I will not vote for a candidate I consider to be ineligible, regardless of how much I like his views. We need to do more to establish the rule of law in our country.

No kidding. How many 7 year olds get to pick the religion they get to be part of. That is ALWAYS the parent’s decision. He should get a major pass on this.

This objection to Rubio carries as much sense as the objection to anyone being born by Cesarean Section are disqualified to be president because they were not born naturally, thus “not a natural born” citizen.

Given that Romney has already gone on record saying no other 2% religions -- like Islam -- would get places on a Romney Cabinet...we ALREADY know that Romney would make decisions on the basis of religion...
This aligns with what we also already know that about 9 to 9.5 of every 10 Mormons -- when faced with a Mormon choice vs. a non-Mormon choice -- would go Mormon...
It's all so interesting. Here, Romney believes that Catholics (& Protestants) are "apostates"...and that somehow inspires about half of Catholics & about half of even Republican mainline Protestants to vote for him...per at least Michigan exit poll data supplied by Fox News...
Hey, maybe, Obama could call us Christians some hyphenated "excrement" name...and that could inspire about half of us so-called Christians to vote for him...makes about as much sense...
