/>Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), catholic and openly an abortion absolutist, is from the Archdiocese of San Francisco, but she spends most of her time in Washington DC. She has at least quasi-domicile in the Archdiocese of Washington DC.
She is Archbishop Niederauer’s and Card. Wuerl’s subject it seems, and yet – year after year – she, saying openly that she is “catholic”, runs her mouth off with deeply and stupidly wicked remarks such as what follows.
From Life Site News:
Pelosi: I am going to stick with fellow Catholics in supporting Obama birth control mandate
BY CHRISTINE DHANAGOMFebruary 6, 2012 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Even as the United States Catholic bishops have launched an all-out campaign against the Obama administrations birth control mandate and urged their flocks to resistance, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi has invoked the support of fellow Catholics to justify her position in favor of the mandate.
Pelosi was confronted at last Wednesdays press briefing by a reporter from CNSnews.com, who began by pointing out that the mandate, which requires all employers to cover all sterilizations and contraception, including drugs that can cause early abortions, forces Catholic individuals and institutions to act against Church teaching.
Irritated, Pelosi, a self-professed devout Catholic, [catholic] interrupted: Is this a speech, or do we have a question in disguise as a speech?
The reporter continued, citing a letter from the U.S. bishops, in which the bishops vowed not to comply with the law, and asked: will you stand with your fellow Catholics in resisting this law or will you stick by the Administration?
[Pelosi answered:] First of all, I am going to stick with my fellow Catholics in supporting the Administration on this. I think it was a very courageous decision that they made, and I support it, the minority leader responded. [I'm going to stick with my fellow Catholics?]
[...]
In an interview with the Washington Post this past November, she acknowledged that many Catholics object to being forced to fund abortions, noting that they have this conscience thing.
The former speaker has also said she has some areas of disagreement with the countrys bishops, and has claimed that Catholicism does not necessarily condemn abortion.
I call upon Archbishop Niederauer and Card. Wuerl openly to state that Rep. Pelosi should not present herself for Holy Communion in their respective dioceses.
Nancy Pelosi considers it consistent with what Catholics do to take a stand against the bishops in favor of a policy that would force Catholic institutions to violate the teachings of her Church.
Pelosi, as a highly public figure, there are few more visible. She is committing the mortal sin of scandalizing the faithful in a matter which unquestionably grave matter. There has been all manner of discussion concerning her and the issues of abortion, contraception, when life begins, etc. She can’t plead ignorance of the Church’s teachings. She continues to be openly, publicly, scandalous in these matters.
Now, she is taking an open stand against the American bishops in favor of a manifest attack on the Catholic Church by the most aggressively pro-abortion President we have ever seen.
Your Excellency? Your Eminence? How much longer does this have to go on? What else does she have to do?
If I am wrong about this, I will accept correction. I am not canonist, but – for the love of God – I can read. I am not a bishop – thanks be to God – but you don’t have to be a bishop to figure this one out.
Please, somebody, explain to me how we square doing nothing about her scandal with can. 915 and the sacred duty bishops have to protect the flock?
Can. 915 of the 1983 Code of Canon Law authorized that ministers should withhold holy Communion from those who are “obstinately persevering in manifest grave sin“. Can. 915 actually requires ministers to withhold Holy Communion in such cases on pain of dereliction of their sacred office (can. 128 and 1389).
This isn’t a matter of the private conversation of an unknown woman in her living room.
I cannot imagine how anyone can question that Pelosi’s actions, which are public and clear and defiant and wicked and scandalous when it comes to serious matters of life, qualify her as “obstinately persevering in manifest grave sin”.
For the good of souls, Nancy Pelosi must be denied Holy Communion and the Catholic people should be informed that she is being denied Holy Communion.
“But Father! But Father!” some of are saying. “What about the… the… the… national repercussions? *sputter* What about the media firestorm?”
Damn straight!
Let there be national repercussions and a media firestorm.
Pres. Obama and his administration have openly and aggressively attacked the Catholic Church by trying to force Catholic institutions to perform actions which are evil even by reason alone and natural law, and not just by Catholic doctrine.
Nancy Pelosi has publicly chosen sides against the Catholic Church’s teachings and against the bishops.
Let her choice be publicly confirmed by those same bishops.
Nancy Pelosi must not admitted to Holy Communion until she publicly changes her defiant stance and positions.
He is right. Deeply and stupidly wicked describes her perfectly. She needs to be publicly excommunicated. I’m sick of this “ self excommunicated” nonsense that the bishops use to let themselves off the hook.
Nails it. For some reason the bishops have decided that they can teach without discipline. Publicly telling someone you disagree with them isn’t discipline. It simply gives the impression that the issue at hand must not really be too big a deal when you get right down to it. Any sane 1st grade teacher knows this.
Freegards
I don’t know why the Church should stop at asking Pelosi to stop receiving Communion.
They should excommunicate her and have her arrested for trespass, should she ever step inside another Catholic Church.
They won’t of course.
Agree with the excommunication part, but although people living in open sin - without any desire to repent - should be denied church membership, they should still be allowed to attend services. Who can tell, maybe they'll hear something and the Holy Spirit will bring conviction in their hearts?
Certainly no access to the Lord's Supper. Not only for the sanctity of the Church, but also for the love of the lost sinner (as we all were at one time):
1 Corinthians 11
27 Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.
Hebrews 10
30 For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.
31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
I don’t know why Pelosi hasn’t been publicly excommunicated.

Please ping me to note-worthy Pro-Life or Catholic threads, or other threads of general interest.
According to the teachings of the Church, she has excommunicated herself by her persistantly evil behavior.
But that isn’t enough, because this causes a public scandal and leads many other Catholics into sin.
Yes, the two bishops in question should both deny her communion. And they should decide which of their two dioceses she belongs to, and that bishop should excommunicate her for public scandal.
This has gone on far too long. Not only do these bishops owe it to their flocks, and to Catholics everywhere, but they owe it to Pelosi—because she is presumably in a state of mortal sin and it is no kindness to her to permit her to delude herself any longer that she is not.
Our bishops, so far, do the absolute minimum they can without losing all moral authority in this. The Catholic flock has its own problems, but the American episcopacy, with a few exceptions, are definitely the weakest link in our society.
Watch them: Obama will give them some compromise, perhaps widening the conscience exception to some school and hospital staff under some conditions (to be overturned later piecemeal by the courts). That will be it: the bishops will trundle back to their reservations and the untold number of Catholic employers will be stuck with paying for abortions or paying fines and losing their businesses.
Your Excellency? Your Eminence?
Fine Nancy... Enjoy your time now.

Apologies, but the page you requested could not be found. Perhaps searching will help.
Thank you, and my apologies. I was balancing trying to post what I thought of as an important story, and my five year-old. He won. ;)
I don’t understand how “Catholics” who have publicly excommunicated themselves through their words and deeds can receive Communion; it is scandalous, and could only be administered by a priest who does not believe the Host is the Body of Christ.
Nancy, you are fooling yourself and I fear fooling many good Catholics You are simply not in sync with the Catholic Church and until you change your non-Catholic positions should stop calling yourself Catholic. Your record shows that you support embryonic stem cell research, planned parenthood, contraception, family planning funding, allowing minors to have an abortion without parental consent, and are against making it a crime to harm a fetus, etc. etc. The fact that you favor married priests and women priests certainly would not classify you as conservative, but here is your answer to the question: Are you a conservative Catholic?
I think so. I was raised, in a very strict upbringing in a Catholic home where we respected people, were observant, were practicing Catholics and that the fundamental belief was that God gave us all a free will and we were accountable for that, each of us. Each person had that accountability, so it wasnt for us to make judgments about how people saw their responsibility and that it wasnt for politicians to make decisions about how people led their personal lives; certainly, to high moral standards, but when it got into decisions about privacy and all the rest, than that was something that individuals had to answer to God for, and not to politicians. (National Catholic Reporter, 1-22-03) That sounds fair and tolerant, but your record belies high moral standards.
The NARAL rates you 100% pro-abortion. Your statement in Newsweek Magazine (10-23-06): To me it isnt even a question. God has given us a free will. Were all responsible for our actions. If you dont want an abortion, you dont believe in it, [then] dont have one. But dont tell somebody else what they can do in terms of honoring their responsibilities. My family is very pro-life. Theyre not fanatics and theyre not activists. I think theyd like it if I were not so vocally pro-choice.
We elect politicians to make laws that help people honor their responsibilities, such as protecting life itself. Can politicians tell someone else not to kill? I fail to understand why you can favor partial birth abortion. How can you explain that it is proper to bring a baby part way out of the birth canal and then stick a scissors in its head to suck out the brains? Is it possible that votes mean more to you than life itself?
Yes, Nancy, we would all like it if you were not so vocally pro-choice , i.e. pro-death. Until your choice is in line with Catholic doctrine, please, Nancy, do not receive the Eucharist when you attend Mass.
Rev. John Malloy, SDB
Nancy, you are wrong, and here are a slew of bishops and other denomations's pastors to tell you so.

PS. Obama is wrong too!
I believe they have asked her to stop receiving Holy Communion.
Addidtionally, she has excommunicated herself by her support of abortion.
Nancy Pelosi so obviously excommunicated herself (latæ sententiæ). She publicly announced that she is not in communion with the Catholic Church, that she does not support but abhors, opposes, and undermines Her teachings, Her Bishops, and Her Head (Our Lord Jesus Christ). To be excommunicated, she first must be in communion, which she plainly now is not. Her misuse of the term “Catholic” to describe herself whenever she finds it politically expedient, however, disturbs—nay, enrages, I sinfully admit—me, and some Bishop should castigate her publicly for her schizoid misperception.
I'd like to see her bishops (if they won't go the bell, book and candle route) call a press conference and announce that Mrs. Pelosi has chosen in fact to "stick with" the powers of Hell in their enduring war against humanity; this is bigger than bureaucratic gnawing at Catholic rights. I think wording in that vein would attract some press attention!
Did anyone else notice that some of the bishops' letters (I only read a few) duplicate paragraphs -- did the USCCB issue a form letter they could use to copy or borrow from? I found it kind of deflating . . .
