Trolling a bit admittedly, but it appears that even if Romney secures the nomination, he is destined to lose due to good, old-fashioned religious bigotry.

For the vast majority it’s not religious bigotry, it’s just knowing a d*mn*d lying liberal when we see one.

A lot of ‘rats have infiltrated Iowa to try to support Romney; if they are ultimately successful then they will have locked up the election, either a ‘rat or a ‘rat lite.

Well apparently if it comes down to Mittens and Messiah, you’ll be called racist if you vote one way and bigot if you vote the other.

Agree. It’s his liberal agenda that mirrors Zero’s. Just easier for some to swallow.

So you are saying that if a Baptist had a known history of supporting gun control, abortion and socialized healthcare, that conservatives would be ok with him as a candidate???

With the current administration’s state department overtly promoting the homosexual agenda worldwide, I doubt Mormonism or non-Mormonism is a big concern with people worried about national morality. The problem with Mr. Romney isn’t his religion.

Bigotry be damned, I don’t vote for liberals, not even ones running for Republican presidential nominee. Romney is a liberal. That is his problem. If Jim Demint or Paul Ryan or Rand Paul were Mormon and running for POTUS, I would vote for them twice.
It is not about religious affiliation. It is about conservatism, which Romney lacks.
But you can be damn sure that Obama is licking his chops at running against Romney. The Democrats are ace race-baiters and they can’t wait to at leasts make an attempt to drive a wedge between whatever is left of the Christian Coalition and a Romney candidacy.
I don’t think conservatives are so bigotted as to vote against a conservative Mormon for president, but I am sure the socialist Democrats fully believe that. They project their racism and bigotry on everybody else. You know “if we the Democrats are this racist and bigoted, then surely the conservatives must be double so.”

but it appears that even if Romney secures the nomination, he is destined to lose due to good, old-fashioned religious bigotry. I don't like Romney and I'm a Catholic, but it can't be denied there is religious bigotry against Mormons, including Romney, and some has been displayed right here on FR. Bigotry is not required, however, to be against Romney.

If Mitt is nominated, expect stories about polygamy by the MSM to go up by about 100 times their usual rate between August and November. No, they won't mention Mitt. They'll just leave the viewer to make the 2 inch jump from the story to Romney. If Mitt is leading in October, then they'll bring out specials on the Mountain Meadows massacre and anything else they can bring up to separate Mormonism from the rest of society.
